Messages from "The Other"

Terence McKenna called the seemingly separate voice that one may hears significant dosages of psilocybin, "The Other" or the logos.

I only experienced it once and it was EXTREMELY powerful. The message was about gratitude and humility. I will tell the story another time.

My question for today, fellow shroomerites, is have any of you had a message from The Other that was specific and verifiable and that you apparently had NO other way of knowing? In other words, what might convince those of you who have experienced this, that this communication came from outside of you and not just a relatively unexplored part of your psyche?

Yes, when participating in a peyote ceremony with my medicine man I went home and heard him speak to me via telepathy and continue teaching me. The next time I saw him I questioned him to make sure that it was real by verifying a few things he told me in the vision or whatever it was.

This is not the same as "The Other" but it was something I verified for myself that was outside the normal empirical paradigm.

Yes,an there is know way of knowing..does it matter?
I think anyone who believes anything should consider that exact possibility about there beliefs. For me I have came to the conclusion that what was said indeed does not matter the source for I will not listen to the message for some future promise or some past fear, but for the love that is eternal.

I may go into more detail when I have time, good topic.

I've communicated with "The Other" on numerous occasions.

The last time we spoke, I realized "the Other" is just my subconscious... we still talk now and then (I don't trip much anymore).

I've felt 'the other' I guess. Not neccessarily as words, but more as an experience or a feeling that was very strong. How do I get it to communicate verbally?

A few years ago when the powerball came to Colorado, they had an all time record jackpot.  It was going to be the largest single lottery winning in US history and people were buying tickets like crazy.  The night before the next drawing I was 'in an altered state' and was 'told' what the winning numbers would be.  At the same time, I somehow knew that if I told anybody what the numbers would be, or bought a ticket, that the numbers would change... :smile:  I wrote the numbers down and sealed them in an envelope and gave them to a friend to keep without telling him what he had.  That night, a bunch of people ended up with the winning numbers.  They next day I called my friend and asked him to open the envelope and compare what I had written to the lottery draw.  The numbers I had written down were the winning combination as well.

I have always had a sceptical mind, and I realize that I could have just been very lucky... simple statistics.  I also remember how absolutely positive I was that the numbers I had written down were the ones that would be picked.  Coincendence or spiritual moment, I don't know... however, I am pretty sure that "" has a wry sense of humor.

Edit: I forgot to include how this relates to 'the other'.  A few months earlier, I had experienced... something... perhaps oneness.  I was still trying to figure out what had happened... if there really was a "" or if I was just in the grip of the drug... while meditating on a very low dose of MDMA the above story took place.

Man, I think these are two of the most important, powerful, profound emotions we can experience. I don't think I have experienced "the other" you are talking about yet, but I don't doubt the message you experienced was of deep significance.

McKenna claims its very easy to talk with the" other", just take 5 dried grams and then literally speak to it. You can start off by saying "hello? Are you there?" and see what happens.

Verifiable telepathic experiences and information with other people and beings outside of myself which I had no other way of knowing? Too many to mention.

The Other...........some would have it that it is our subconscious mind being heard through inhibition of ego. Some such as McKenna believe it's the " Logos". Some still, think it God.My experience with the "Other" leads ME to believe that it is an outside inteligence of some sort arising from the implicit reality exploring explicit reality through the chemical/spiritual interface of psilocybin and other substances in us during our experiences.As a strictly subjective experience it can only be an opinion but it seems to fit with the scenarioof my experience quite well . WR
