I would take some money if you can mate - your still gonna need to eat.  Make sure you know the terrain, know how to navigate, how to get drinkable water, how to build shelters and survival skills.  Its a hard world out there on your own.

Look into helpx.com or google wooffing where you can travel to farms etc and people will give you board and food in exchange for helping them with some jobs.


What kit are you taking?

I'd advise a couple of things...

wind up head torch - no batteries required ;-)
decent water filter - so you can take water from more sources
pocket solar shower
Fire stick - you will need to always be able to make a fire for boiling water / food / heat
Think carefully about clothes and bed options VS weight
I prefer tent and sleeping bag but hammock/tarp is much lighter

Sounds very similar to what I'm doing - living in a tent, travelling round Spain on minimal money.

You're right to prepare well and your kit list sounds good enough.  Just remember water, food, fire and shelter as the essentials you will need. 

Get yourself a bivvy sack, its waterproofed and can be used as an outer layer for your sleeping bag.  You could get a hammock as well for more comfort.

Edit:  Take a big bag of mixed dried fruit and nuts - it will be essential munch on your mission.  Also think about how you are going to store and collect water for the journey.

Yeah its essential for survival if you find yourself in middle of nowhere you can use it boil and purify water, cook foods and keep warm. 

Have you got a stove?

Look up penny stove on youtube ;-) you can make one out of 2 cans.
