Flat Cake TEK Question - Glass or Plastic?

The Flat Cake Tek says to use glass pyrex dishes.. any ideas why plastic wouldnt work?

I?d suggest though that if you are messing with cakes after they are colonized, better case them.

Yes anno, I agree. But I want to try various options, of course the 50/50 casing is one of them, but so are the flat cakes. I have enough colonized substrate to play around with... I forgot to mention that im using the lazy mofo bag tek, not just cakes.
