What is stress?

Is stress a reoccurring 'worry'?

Like say a person is not content with their current weight..
This would cause stress right?
They constantly think about their weight until they become content with it.

So stress can be easily avoided with a 'healthy' mind?

so yeah, worrying about your weight would cause mental stress,
and the extra weight would cause physical strain, and of those
combined with societies negative conintation with fattys would
cause emotional stress.

So stress can be easily avoided with a 'healthy' mind?

I think avoiding stress creates a healthy mind. Fish helps too.

Hey Giza stress is a very interesting phenomenon.

Stress is caused by operating outside of your body and brains natural limits.

For example when students go through exam week they are stressing their brains severely!

When an athlete prepares for the Olympics they are stressing their body severely.

I believe that you should only stress yourself in times of need and for short periods. Because long term stress leads to all kinds of health issues down the track.

Another thing which causes stress is 'change'. If you experience a death of a loved one, a physical injury, moving house, changing jobs, finding a new partner, having a child, etc. etc. All these things cause stress as you learn to adapt to the new situation. That is why you should try and avoid too much rapid change at the same time. Try to make large life decisions one at a time.

In terms of not doing the chores... well that will cause you some small amount of stress if you continue to think about it on a daily basis. If you start to feel anxiety as a result of having all these unfinished chores waiting for you then you are most likely stressing. So it's really best to keep on top of chores and everything in life. The little things add up too and a lot of little stresses can be just as bad as one big stress!

I think stress or anxiety is when you are almost involuntarily being flooded with energy because of a perceived need to do something, like your chores. So your body and mind works itself up.  But part of you doesn't want to do those things, so there is a fracture in your psyche and that's why its percieved as tension in the body rather than just energy.  Because when you're doin thangs, getting those chores done, you probably won't be nearly as anxious as when you're putting them off.
