First bulk monotub grow **Guad**Updated 3/9* Fat ass pins...Thoughts?

Hello everyone,

After doing 36 successful cakes with the PF tek I decided I wanted to try my hand at grains/bulk grow.  Through some initial failures and stupid mistakes I finally put together some decent self healing lids and made two 500ml guad multispore LC's using Tahoe's LC tek.  I know multispore LC is not ideal but I do not have agar or any tissue to clone. So after two weeks the LC looked thick enough so I knocked up some BRF jars and sure enough I had mycellium :thumbup:. 

Next, after always screwing up my simmer on my previous WBS endeavors I decided to try Fooman's WBS tek.  I knocked up 6 quart jars and three weeks later they were all fully colonized.  I picked up a 66QT tub and decided to try out Damion5050's elementary coir tek as a bulk substrate.

it wont hurt to introduce now, or wait til 7 days..I myself would probably wait the 7 days because i like to mist and fan my monotubs through out the day..

Best to wait!  No need to risk some sort of problem while you're gone that you won't be able to remedy.  ^^Good call, better to be there to mist and fan!

I'd wait too. Nothing bad will happen if you leave it in a vegetative state like it is now. However, if you fruit it and leave...who knows.

Yea I don't plan on going back other than to test out new LC's which I don't think I'll need for some time.  I've got 6 more jars of Guad I'm going to birth in a few days to another tub.  :electrickoolaid:

Looks great! I counted at least ten pins in that tub so far. It should fruit nicely, the extra time did nothing but help it consolidate. Keep us updated on your first flush, everyone loves pin porn. :naughty:

Alright so it's been about 3 days and I have a lot more pins :grin:


I had a bit of pooling water there... increased my FAE and soaked it up with a paper towel..  going to try and neglect fully until harvest.

Just let the babies keep growing and pick the one with the open veil. they should get bigger...  maybe do some manual misting and fanning?

I've been misting twice a day: once before and after work.  There is also a humidifier running in the corner of the room which I fill up twice a day just to keep up the RH as it is quite dry here.  I'll pick the short one in a bit :smile: Thanks

It's genes man, clone the biggest one and see what happens next time. Little ones disappoint me too but when the entire thing turns into one big canopy, it's a beautiful site regardless of the size.
