Can I glue my toenail back together?

I cut my toenail almost in half (across the toe, not vertically)

It's kind of held together by dried blood, but I'm afraid water will screw it up. Can I just cover it with superglue? Or maybe some kind of epoxy? What about several layers of clear nail polish?

I'm worried that whatever I put on will start to peel off and I'll have to worry about getting it caught on stuff.

that happened to me once, i just wrapped it in gauze and sealed the gauze with packing tape and changed it every few days til the nail grew out.

the tape stopped any further injuries and the gauze made a nice cushy buffer for my toe.

alternatively you can use a bandaid but i found that that actually hurts more.

you can also just use cotton balls i guess. anything soft will work. but i find cotton tends to stick into wounds so gauze is best.

My toenail recently split that same way at some point during a night of drugged up shenanigans.

Next day, I finished the job and just pulled it off...only hurt for a day, now it's fine. They grow back.

I reccomend using superglue, I have done this several times with great success. Put a small amount on and allow to dry, then add a second layer. It will chip off every few days and you will have to re-apply it but this is a good thing because then you don't run the risk of inhibiting growth and or causing pain because the nail gets litterally glued in place so to speak; do not use epoxy cause this could be the outcome. Superglue is great for this kind of thing as well as cuts and chunks taken out of your skin. Stevie Ray Vaughn used to glue up his fingertips with superglue because he would get holes in them from playing so hard.

i wouldn't seal up the wound, it needs to breathe or it could get infected and swell up.

Actually I super glued it and it's doing great. The super glue just covers the part that is normally covered by the nail, and holds the nail in a solid piece so you don't get it caught on anything.
