i think i might have an ingrown toenail?

this is kind of weird, cuz ive never had one before. i think thats what might be going on here. but it fucking hurts and i gotta do something about it soon. and going to the doctor and getting it checked out is kind of later on the list of things to do. my question is, what?

my pinkey toe on my left foot....its starting to get a bit swollen, most tender right where the nail starts at the edge of my foot, like where it rubs against my shoe. looking at the nail itself i dont see anything obviously wrong, but im no foot doc. i guess if a pic would help i could supply, but man....im almost thinking the first step should be working at it with a pin to relieve some of the pressure....then maybe cleaning it with something could be a good idea.

shit, i dont know guys.......anyone got any ideas? im also high and could find some info online, and should and will actually now that i think of it. but i dont want all this typing to be for nothing.

Go to the doctor,or even the emergency room or urgent care center and it can probably be fixed quick,otherwise if you let it get worse outpatient surgery may be required and nasty infections can set in because of the for lack of better word bacteria than is on your feet,sweat,socks,ect...
working at it with a pin is just going to increase your chance of infection.In my town there is an urgent care center in the hospital and they garuntee your seen within 10 minutes,maybe there is something similar where you live.

Soak your toe in Iodine. I used to get ingrown toenails all the time and I could ward them off by soaking my afflicted feet in Iodine for about ten-fifteen minutes every night. I don't know why this works, but it worked for me every time. The pain stopped.

you are probably right. but damn, just throw another bill on my tab. i mean, i could get it payed for through my work i suppose. but around here workmans comp requires drug tests.....and im no good at tests these days. :smirk:

but ya, its like this thing popped up out of nowhere. maybe a slight irritation yesterday that slipped my mind....and bam, i find myself out in hyperspace dragging a club foot around.

i will get it checked out now that i take another look at it. so preventive maitenence.....iodine was mentioned?

amputate the toe.

seriously, that nail will cause an infection, probably already has, which which spread though your blood stream and collect in your groin area leaving you impotent.

cut the toe.
