Ingrown toenails.

Anyone know how to get rid of these damn things?

I'm not goin to a doctor.

Soak your feet in hot water for a while to soften up your toenails.

Take your toenail clippers, and insert them under the middle of your toenail (exactly as if you were going to cut it).

Instead of cutting, slide the clippers from the center of the nail, all the way to the side and cut out the ingrown toenail.

P.S. This is extremely painful.

Trust me on this one. Go to a doctor. Somehow. Get there.


I had one on EACH toe for 3 years...and I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them.

Finally, after all the stubbing, people fucking stepping on them, almost crying from putting my shoes and socks on and walking in a weird ass limp....I went to the doctor.

He shot up my toes with a local anesthesia and cut a little of the sides of my toe off with a scalpel. I couldnt watch and walk the day of....but man, the day after was amazing.


No more pain.

Use the clippers to cut a small 'v' in the middle of the nail.  The sides will grow out, been doing it for years :thumbup:

100% agree. DO IT. Go to a doctor.

I wore a 1/2 size too small cleats when I played baseball and they fucked up my big toe on both feet really bad. I too fucked around with trying to fix the problem myself to no avail.

All the doctor is going to do is numb you up and cut the side of your toenail off.
You can do it yourself and save a few hundred bucks.

Actually, he numbs you up, cuts the side of the toenail off and then kills the root so that the toenail doesn't continue to grow out sideways.  Sure you can cut it off, but it will continue to grow that way.

Plus, the pain of getting way down in there to cut out the nail is a BITCH.  :laugh:

I have this one that sometimes comes back on my pinkie toe, I just rip it out by the roots. It's like a little nub growing on the side of the main nail.

IF you can get the nail out from underneath the skin and clip it back, you can keep watch over it, clipping it as it grows, and train it like people do their hair so that it won't grow back in. I had one big toe nail ingrown on both sides. I cut the skin back some, dug the bitch out on both sides, cut them, and then kept them under control.

Oddly, all but slicing open my skin was per reccomendation of my doctor. He saw no need to waste the time and money when it can be easily (yet painfully) done on your own.

I had a killer ingrown nail once that got so bad, that even walking on just the heel of my foot with the toes up in the air would send pain running all over my foot.

Got drunk and high one night, went to town on it - ended up in a bloody and puss-filled mess, but felt a hell of allot better once I was done.

Soak your feet in hot water for a while to soften up your toenail
Then ball up small piece of cotton.
Then push the cotton ball up under you toe nail ,on the side thats ingrown.
Soak you foot in some warm water with Epsom salt,once a day.
After you soak it, put some neosporeing(sp) and a bandad on it. This sould halp if it gets any worse go to the doc.
