Samuel Smith makes an excellent IPA. (They also make a good nut brown ale, oatmeal stout, etc. etc.)

How to make cannabeer

#7 Light Malt Extract Syrup (Unhopped)
#1 Crystal Malt 60 or 80 Lovibond (a measure of malt color)
#1/2 Carapils Malt
Nylon Grain Bag
1oz Organic Cascade Hops (4.3% alpha acid in boil 60 minuts)
1oz Organic Pacific Gem Hops (16% alpha acid in boil 60 minutes)
1/2oz Centennial Hops (9% alpha acid in boil 2 minutes)
1/2oz Amarillo Hops (9.2% alpha acid in boil 2 minutes)
1 Packet American or English Ale yeast
2oz cannabis shake or 2 grams kif soaked in 1oz grain alcohol for one week.


Put the grains in a reusable nylon grain bag or cheesecloth, add 3 gallons of water and allow them to steep about 20 minutes. Heat the water but don't let it boil. Then remove the bag, bring the water to a boil, add the malt extract (stirring to avoid scorching) and bring to a boil again. Add the Cascade and Pacific Gem hops (these will contribute bitterness from the resins in the hops), boil for 60 minutes, add the Centenial and Amarillo hops (these will contribute hop flavor from the essential oils of the hops) and boil two more minutes. Makes 5 gallons.

I'm super stoked right now. I live on the west coast so Bells doesn't distribute anywhere near here but I was able to do an online trade with a fellow BA and got a twelve pack of Hopslam! It's one of the top rated beers in the world and me being a major hophead I can't wait to try it. The dude I traded with is stoked as well because I sent him a bunch of Pliny the Elder.   how did you know I like Sierra Nevada?  The number of "good" beers I have drank in my life I can count on one hand but Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is one of them.  I didn't think it was considered an "IPA" so that's why I didn't say that.



I have drank the shit out of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, though.  it's kinda funny why I like that beer so much lol.  Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne's ex-guitarist and frontman for Black Label Society loved that beer when he drank.  In every interview he'd plug Sierra Nevada Pale one way or another... I was like, 10, maybe 11, years old reading all of this.  I had literally never even drank a beer in my life before but I knew when I did start drinking beer I would like this one.  Out of all the "good" beers I have tasted I think Sierra Nevada Pale is by far the best..


but like I said before I rarely ever drink.  My favorite beer is Natural Light.  I guess because it's all people ever bring to parties.  Unlike Sierra Nevada Pale, too, I can drink like 30 Natties in a night and not feel full as long as I keep pissin.

Have you guys tried their Double Jack yet? It's FW's DIPA based off the Union Jack which was brewed for the first time very recently. I have a bomber in the fridge that I plan on tasting sometime this weekend. I'll post my review in this thread if I remember.
