Panicking when swimming in ocean * 1
    #13798312 -

Anyone else get a little scared when swimming in the ocean on the beach? Not deep waters, but a good 6-8ft or so. For example my foot would brush up against some seaweed and im afraid its a creature or some shit so i swim back to shore as fast as possible. Or when your feet on at the bottom of the water, but you cant see them, and you never know if there is like a huge ass crab right there, ready to claw you up.

Just thinking about all the creatures in the ocean, and how anything could just swim up next to your leg is pretty freaky

I cant be the only one paranoid about swimming in the ocean, can I?

Whew, I was worried this was gonna be another story for a second.

I get that way sometimes. I swam out to a sand bar once and had to go over this deep dark pit of seaweed.

Freaked me out man :feelsbadman:

All the fucking time

Not just in the ocean, lakes too.
I have a fear of deep dark water.

But that doesn't stop me from swimming in it.

well you be making prequels to the "today at the gym" trilogy? I want to know more about the character.  His bizarre persona really keeps me on the edge of my seat wanting to read more and more.

Diving is incredible. It doesn't scare me at all. Swimming in deep water, on the other hand, is quite frightening. There's something spooky about being so isolated and small in comparison to the ocean.

All. the. fucking. time..

It makes me fucking paranoid.. It's like being in a dark room full of potentially hostile creatures but you're the only one that's visible..:ifyoucanawe:

I hate jellyfish.... The stinging is a bitch, and their physical consistency just grosses me out..

I love diving.. but when I can't see what's around me it kind of freaks me out..

The deepest I was ever at in scuba gear was right around 35 feet in Fort Bragg, CA, not the military base. It was some cool as shit, probably 100 yards of the beach. Forest of kelp, but ot enough to get lost in and besides if you go to a good school you know your compass. That was some of the tests, dive out go there read your bering and get back to point x.

I want to take lessons again since it has been so long(15 years ago?) and my wife wants to do it. Shit is grand once you are under water.

Oh and crap did we create a monster.

I feel that with any water than I can't see the bottom of. Lakes are worse than oceans, since I grew up with the latter. I still swim in both, despite my fear of not knowing what's there. Hell, it's hard to imagine anyone thinking that I have this fear.

I have family that live in Hawaii and I've gone diving there a few times. It's beautiful. I was also at the great barrier reef in 2007 which was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It would be so damn amazing to dive a coral reef on psychedelics. Holy crap. That is on my bucket list for sure as of just now.

I was snorkling and saw 2 or 3 shark and I flipped my shit, ever since then I havent been to keen on getting in the water when I go to the beach. Funny shit was is I was only 20 yards out from the shore. There was a small sandbar/reef equidistant on the opposite side of me. I still do get in the water though cuz I dont want to be sitting by myself on the sand when all my friends are out there in the water. :zoidberg:
