Do you enjoy swimming?
    #11391372 - 11/05/09 04:36 PM (8 years, 18 days ago)

Do you enjoy actual swimming. I don't mean standing in the water or floating in a stupid tube.

How many of you people actually swim?  It makes for great exercise and it's fun!

I like swimming.

I've been telling myself to start making laps at the local community college.

I find it relaxing and it is a great way to stay in shape. I don't do it as often as I would like.

I used to swim competitively through my early teen years and in High School. 4-5 miles every morning before school. Didn't really enjoy that kind of practice, but I still love it.

Haven't swam in almost a year though.

Not really. I mean, I'll go swimming if other people i'm with want to... but in general I like to stay dry and stick to the land.

Not a fear or water, lazieness or anything like that- I just prefer land.

I love swimming. I was really really good back when I was on a team in middle school.

Swimming in the ocean is one of the best things in the world imo.

I grew up in a pool/ocean. love swimming, but around highschool i ran into the strangest problem. i never had to hold my nose shut underwater cause i could just sorta close the airway by holding a constant pressure of air and keep water out. but now if i go under and turn sideways or somethin my nose just floods with water no matter how i try. sorta like an upside-down glass of air in water, when you turn it sideways.

lol leave it to me to fuck up something so easy.

Ugh, swimming in the ocean always makes me feel so uneasy. There are so many things swimming around with me that are either much larger than me, have much sharper teeth or are more poisonous.

I stick to lakes and rivers. And of course pools.

Let me clarify. I stick to mostly to the James River above the fall line. If a shark can manage to fight its way up those rapids then it deserves to be there as much as everyone else.

Although they did spot a manatee that made it close to Hopewell a few weeks ago. But that's well away from the fall line.

True, I've been stung by countless jellyfish, crabs getting my toes, and once I had a ramora that sucked right onto my leg and I had to rip the fucker off.

Think im more scared of lakes an shit than ocean. but in Fl youll see waaaaay more alligators in close proximity than sharks. an sharks dont even really wanna eat you.

ya if i blow out air to where im losing my lung reserve, then ya that works but i used to be able to hold the pressure and not lose any air. Think my nose-holes grew too big. lol
