Reflections on LSD
    #13513818 -

Well I dropped at 330pm. After listening to C read the quote from inception-

You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You
know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But
it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

I immediately put one blotter under my tongue after hearing this, and I think it set up the rest of my trip very well. It was especially important to me as C and I have just started developing a very good relationship, and having her there made it easier to let go.

We went for a walk and layed down in the grass on one of the lawns around campus, looking at the sky. She hadn't dropped yet, but we could both see rainbow specs floating around the sky. Regardless of whether or not it was the hallucinogen, it was beautiful.

We then grabbed some food from the dining hall, which is where I really started to feel the effects, mainly in people's eyes. Everyone's eyes were doing something different, some swirling, some startlingly black. I had almost lost interest in food at this point, but I knew it was important since I hadn't eaten since 11am.

We then left for the riverbank to watch the sunset. This was by far the best thing to do during the come up. The colors and atmosphere even though it was cold was simply amazing.

The water rippled with gold color, we called it liquid sunshine.

After sunset, we rounded up our friends D and E, and they both dropped and we headed for the concert. On the way there we stopped at a crafts store and bought a bunch of glowsticks for the car ride there and for the actual show.

It's a miracle we even left the craft store, and without our trip guide, M, I doubt we would have ever left home. I credit a lot of how well things went to having a person you can trust around you who isn't tripping.

The show was about an hour away, and at this point it was 7pm. We got in the car, blasted some tunes and headed on our way. I'm pretty sure I peaked in the car, although it was hard to tell. I feel like a plateaued at a nice high point for a while before starting to come down.

I was sitting shotgun, so I had my laptop plugged into my cars CD deck, turned the iTunes visualizer on, and just let my mind go wherever it wanted. The visualizer combined with all the glowsticks going around the car was wonderful.

I also played with M's iPhone app, Teslasomethingorother. Where your fingers create different colors of light on the screen depending on how many fingers are touching and where and how fast they move. I was creating and destroying universes to the beat of the music with a flick of my finger.

After was seemed like a much longer of a ride than it actually was, we arrived in the city. We found a parking garage, and made our way to the venue just observing everything around us. We stopped at a restaurant next door to just have a warm place to relax, and while this place worked well I think it was too much stimulation for all of us to handle for too long.

Luckily, the show was starting very soon. We went inside the venue and started grooving to the music. If you've ever been to a show while tripping, I'm sure you understand what I mean.

I would look around me and see all these old 'hippies' (if that's what they really are) and I felt like they all had been exactly where I am now and they all knew exactly what I was under the influence of, and it almost added a sense of serenity to everything. Knowing that there were people around who I hadn't ever met yet still felt like I had some common ground with.

There was one old man, C called him a 'space cadet' wearing an old american flag colored top hat, white dreadlocks, and a tie dye t-shirt. All I could think about for a while was going up to him and just asking about his life, where he had been, what he had seen..but from what we could tell speaking wasn't his thing, and he disappeared after the opening act.

The headliner band came on, joints started sparking up and we were all grooving again, but it still seemed like a lot happening, especially for our friends D and E, who had never dropped acid before.

We left the venue, made our way back to the parking garage, and headed home. The car ride home felt significantly shorter, and while I was still tripping, I could definitely feel myself returning to my normal state.

Once back at my apartment, we all hung out together and laughed and smoked weed, it was really good vibes all around. C colored all over a 2d printout of an LSD molecule, which I'll take pictures of today. It's beautiful.

Afterwards, everyone left and it was just C and I.

Overall an awesome trip! I find that LSD is a much more friendly hallucinogen than psilocybin. On shrooms I am definitely more disoriented physically as well as emotionally the whole time, which leads to me becoming anxious and uncomfortable. While this trip seemed serene and peaceful even in its most intense moments.

Any thoughts?
