Anyone know of a good solvent to strip the paint off aluminum cans?

I recycle aluminum cans and really everything for that matter because their is no reason to throw it away and pollute. I have a furnace set up here at the house, and plan to start casting stuff soon to sell on eBay or maybe start a small business if I can find the market. I figure all the aluminum cans I have are worth more to me if I smelt them down to make stuff than getting paid five bucks for a garbage bag full at the recycling center. It also would give my product a good background considering they would be 100% recycled. I could burn off the paint and the internal liners, but that would be bad for the atmosphere, so I'm looking for a solvent that would eat the paint away down to the last atom. I also need a solvent to eat the internal liner away if I can't find one that would do both. I contacted Coca Cola and Pepsi, but they don't know anything about the cans that their own product is put in besides the color codes for the logos. :facepalm: Any ideas? Thanks guys!

I hear  lysergic acid diethylamide works great for that

Well my thought is if I have a tub full of solvent and paint, I can always reuse the solvent after separating the paint somehow. I have a full chemistry set. I could at least take the solvent to a disposal facility rather than having paint smoke flying off into the air. Also, if I burned the paint off it would leave shit on the cans that would make slag I don't need in the casting process.

I may have to do a few experiments. It'll give me good reason to buy a gallon of each type of commonly used solvent as well. Always handy to have.

That sounds like a lot of work considering how many cans you're going to need to clean.

According to this, recycling plants use a De-lacquering oven to remove the paint. Whatever that shit is.:lol:

It looks like they shred their cans before the process as well. I was just going to submerge them whole and uncrushed even. I'll figure something out. I just want the purest metal going into the casting so it's as good as it can get.
