How can you make shroom tea without losing potency?? don't you have to heat it???

have you researched the melting points of psilocin and psilocybin? that would answer your question. there has been recent speculation that heat doesn't destroy anywhere near as much as previously believed. if you boil mush at a rolling boil you will prolly destroy "some" psilocin but your not hurting the psilocybin. if you make your tea by steeping you could preserve all of it. or you could do an overnight soak to practically guarantee zero loss of potency. who says you have to heat it?

dotn boil your mushrooms. simmer water, stick the mushies in there, keep simmering, let cool a lil, strain, repeat a couple times, and drink. i personally prefer eating them, lol, but whatever.

here's a cool one. make kool-aid. take very fresh mush and dump into the pitcher. stir and stir and stir. when your arm gets tired give the pitcher to your friend to stir and stir and stir. eventually the mush pretty much dissolves into the Kool-aid. the parts that won't dissolve will still be wet, mushy, and sweet and will go down your throat no problemo. The kool-aid is now electric.

Seems cool debianlinux! thanks a lot.. but.. a few questions.. how long can you keep this stuff?? and.. whats the best way to dose this way?  BTW.. i use debian too! :smile: Thanks again for the info..

Once again.. i did search.. there are, however, variations from personal experinces... other people had absolutely no problem answering.. i never complained about "half ass responses" i complained about smart ass snooty comments.. if you have nothing better to say, keep it to yourself. Thanks to all the imformative replies.. i'm not a newbie to the forum and i refuse to be treated like that... there's no need to be an asshole just because you are behind a computer.. i've suggested the FAQ' and Forums to many people.. though i've done it in a much nicer manner.. and also gave suggestions on top of that. I suggest if you have nothing more than negativity to bring to a post.. then why even bother? You don't like the comments.. don't read them. Pretty simple.

There was nothin mean about my response.  When I referred to "half ass responses," it didn't pertain to you, but rather gave an explination as to why. 

So chill the fuck out and grow some fuckin balls.  Also, when I reiterated the search I wasn't just speakin within the Shroomery.  Sometimes you need to leave the shroomery to get your info.  In the end this will be your best resource-regardless of any posts made within this thread.

K, maybe my post wasn't immediately useful to you and I can understand you frustration bein in your shoes before, but you're way too fuckin sensitive.  Ignore the posts that don't help and continue to reach out to those who may...geeesh. :tongue:

Well, you're a better man than I. I hang out in OTD too much and forget to put on my nice face when I walk away...don't get stuck there!!!!

Anywho, here's a Link that will give you info concerning temps. You'll have to read through it to pull that info out, but I found it quite interesting.

I've never made tea. If I did I'd probably experiment by usin one batch and testin the potency at various steeping temps. My first attempt would probably be to use a coffee grinder on some dried shrooms, and either toss them in a tea bag or just toss them directly in the water...mix and let sit for a day or two and then drink. Or do the same thing while raisin the temp on the stove. I think you'll find either way to be successful!

There are some who boil their shrooms and believe no potency is lost while there are others who believe you need to keep temps below 100 degrees F (or somewhere around there).

All i do is stick 3-5 grams of shrooms into a mug, boil the kettle, pour...leave for 20 minutes ...strain the shrooms and then chug down the lukewarm liquid.

It works, too.

First off you lose half of the high when you make a tea out of fresh or dried mushrooms.

Psilocybine is water soluable and psilocine is not. And your body converts all the psilocin in the mushrooms into psilocybine before you get off on it.

Yes the effects of the tea are simlar to the thrust of an Apollo rocket leaving the Earths atmosphere.

But the high of tea allows you a 2 intese visual rush and a much c onfusing ego for the first hour at least and by the end of the 2nd hour you are coming down.

When eaten fresh or dried, you shyould take 20-30 minutes to eat the dosage. This is so the effects come on slopwly in ripples and waves and the high will last (in the dark with visuals) for at least 3-4 hours with another two pot like hours of high before coming down.

This is how the nativ e peoples of Mesoamerica consume their shrooms. Been doing so more probably 3000 years so they must be doing something right.

Tea gets you off but that klind oif high is not really what the shrooms are all about.
