Mulch and/or humidity dome for a new salvia?

A bit over a week ago i recieved a salvia d. plant in a trade, when it arrived it was in pretty rough shape, it only had 2 leaves and one of them had basically snapped off and it was very wilty. So i cut off the busted leaf and potted it up (in a 1/2 gal pot) with its one remaining leaf propped up on the edge of the pot. Despite generally low humidity and temps in my house the plant appears to be recovering nicely, its perked up and it looks like there are some new leaves coming soon. So here are my questions.

1. Would mulch be beneficial? I was thinking since this plant is supposed to like lightly acid soil, a mulch of either pine needles or used coffee grounds might be nice.
2. Would a humidity dome keep my plant happier? It seems like it has adjusted to low humidity already, perhaps a dome would just increase chance of rot and re-ajust the plant to high humidity?

I wouldn't mulch it. If it appears to be recovering just continue to do what you're doing until it does. Salvia is notorious for not liking change and is known to die suddenly if it isn't happy. Mulching could bring on the sads so I wouldn't risk it for now. Once you have some rooted cuttings then you can do your experiments, just try and get that cutting of yours flourishing first.

Again with the humidity dome I wouldn't do it, especially if you say it's putting on new leaves(a sign of recovery). If it starts to look sad then yes, a humidity dome probably wouldn't hurt but it sounds like it's going to recover by what you've typed.
