That guy is right, cops can basically do anything they want to. For example;

One day I was walking home with my brother and a friend. My friend got a phonecall and he had to go somewheres so I give him a hand shake and we part ways. Five seconds later an undercover pulls up and steps outside of his vehicle "HEY FELLAS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Nothing sir, going home. "Oh, I see. What's that smell? I smell marijuana." No sir, that's a cigarette I don't smoke marijuana. "Yeah, whatever buddy. I'm going to search you." I don't consent to a search. "It doesn't matter" *Searches my friend, my brother and I.*

Luckily, I threw the two bags I had in someones garden and retrieved them later.

just because they might not care that you are not consenting, doesnt mean that you shouldnt. The can search you against you consent and then you have a good argument in court.

which jurisdictions because that means that banks, convenience stores,
traffic cameras and anything else that records the likeness of a cop
while on duty would be an illegal recording device, cops are public
officials and have no expectation of privacy, the same laws that apply
to you apply to to them, if they can record you, you can record them
