Can I be prescribed Vyvanse?

I'm a 19 year old male with no previous mental diagnosis or medication. Although I am generally relaxed and calm even when sober, I feel as I frequently 'get lost in my mind'. Its hard to explain but a couple times a day, EVERY day, I will start to 'zone-out' and imagine myself doing things, having conversations with imaginary people, and when I do snap out of it I usually think to myself "Wait, where'd that person go ... oh right, I was just imagining it again.". During work this slows me down as my body goes into auto-pilot mode.

None of this was caused by drugs, this is the way I've been my entire life. I've done my fair share of drugs but Vyvanse has been the only thing that has truly HELPED me. Right now I'm buying a couple hundred mg of Vyvanse weekly from a dealer that I only use while I'm working. Is there any chance I could get this prescribed so I can quit taking unnecessary risks?

Yeah, just go to your doctor and tell him about your situation. You don't even need to lie but you may want to throw in some other symptoms of ADHD for good measure. Oh, and don't say "I think I need this drug." or anything like that.

I think if you tell your physician that you're having conversations with imaginary people you're more likely to get an anti-psychotic.

So I probably shouldn't say something like "My friend let me try his prescribed Vyvanse and it really helped me." or anything?

Hmm, I'm not schizophrenic and when I do talk to other people its in my own voice and the conversations are pretty normal. Although I have gotten excited or sad over an imaginary conversation.

No, definitely not. That makes it look like you're there trying to get drugs and they will note that and make it difficult for you to do so.
