Who has been in jail or prison?

Who here has been in either jail or prison? Share your story!

What did you do? How long were you locked up? What was the worst part about it? Got any funny stories about your time in jail?

This thread was inspired by a shroomerites anonomys post by a guy looking at 10-20 years in prison. That made me realize how much it would suck to be locked up that long and now I'm just looking to hear about other peoples experiences in jail.


Personally I have never been locked in a jail cell and hope I never am.

I did 11 months for felony assault on a police officer. It was a trumped up charge that cost me 11 months of my life and $15k in legal expenses. I was driving drunk and had a few accidents. Once the vehicle refused to move any further they grabbed me. I expected that and didn't resist. Then they started beating me, so I fought back. The unlucky officer got his wittle hand and ribs hurt( must say that in baby language). I got in one fight the whole time I was locked up and spend Christmas eve in solitary. Ahh, good times.

13 months in county prison for possession with intent to deliver meth. I was 22 at the time, and going to jail probably saved my life. I was strung out from :syringe: heroin, coke, meth and pretty much any pharm that you could dissolve in water. AIDS hit the news shortly after I got  locked up. I cleaned out my system, ate well, worked out, gained 40 pounds of much needed mass, learned how to make a tattoo gun, sold tattoos for smokes (and sometimes weed), did 30 days in the hole for contraband (tattoo gun), and defacing county property (giving tattoos to fellow inmates), read the whole bible while in the hole. I was allowed to get my acoustic guitar sent to me after about 6 months served, and I had a TV, my cellie had a kick-ass boom box, only was in one fight (a draw). Met a guy who was in for murdering his family AND his pet dog, cat and parakeet(no witnesses, I guess), a 60 year old guy caught with oves 50 gallons  of P2P, and another guy about 75 who burnt down his house because his worthless adult children wouldn't move out. Worst part was probably the one time my Mom and Pop visited. Good times indeed ...:chaingang: . . . :peace:

Just a few times, usually as a juvenile.  The longest I was in for was a week, that was for violating probation.  Many over night stays.  The last time I was locked up I was on acid.  I was about 19 I think, and had a warrant I didnt know about.  Cops started harassing us about some runaway girl while we were all frying.  They ran my ID and took me in.  Ill never forget that night.

I was in juvie alot as a kid.

At intake, feeling extremely discouraged (nothing like being 15 and having to lift your sack for some scarey fat black CO) I decided it would be a great idea to tell them That there is no point in locking me up because if they did I would attempt to kill myself. They pressed for awhile to test if I was bullshitting. I was under the impression they would send me to a mental hospital untill my court date.

Let me tell you...I was wrong, so fucking wrong.

They started to take my claims seriously when I explained that even with out a killing tool I would just bash my head against the metal toilets at lights out.

Guess what?!

They had huge empty cells connected to the infirmary type thing. Ironically I had to get naked and go through the sack lifting-cough cough proccess multiple times a day. Naked I had to wear a huge flak jacket type thing that was made out of the same material as the matress. I had no blanket or pillow just matress and another matress for a pillow. I was in that fuckin hell hole for three days and then I had to convince them that I actually wasnt suicidal anymore so That I could spend the rest of my 40 day sentance among jackals and jackasses. It was so depressing that I actually looked forward to the social aspect of juvie XD.

Just 2 days in juvie when I was 17. I Do not plan on being locked in a small room with shit all over the toilet ever again.

i did 3 months and a couple of weeks for violating probation.

got caught with a pipe and some spice, but the cops were convinced i had weed or there was weed residue in the pipe(there wasnt). so i fought the case and had it dropped.

jail sucks, it was one of the most miserable experiences but i had the right mind, patience, and positivity to ride along with it.

the 2nd week i got put into 10-man cells with 5 bunks. those were cool cause it was a huge cell with 2 toilets, 2 sinks, its own shower, and a table to eat & play cards.
the only thing that sucked about those is everybody would be loud as fuck till like 1 or 2am.

soon i became a trustee there and, as those of you whove been locked up know, thats the best way to get through jail. so i was doin my thang cleaning everything and handing out the food/clothes for about a month then i got into a verbal argument with this BITCH guard and she sent me to max for 2 weeks.

damn i got a shitload of jail tales, let me know if you wanna hear more.

I was nearly sent down for 5 ounces of chronic on multiple supply charges.

Some how by the grace of god, i was given a second chance and got off with a hefty fine.

Never been to jail.

Christmas day, 1995.. I was 12 years old.
My mother was off getting drunk somewhere as usual. Me and my sister who is 2 years older than me were home alone all day until she came home late that afternoon. When she got home my sister started bitching at her.. she has always been the voice of the two of us.

I went down to my bedroom in the basement and hid like I always did when things started getting rough. I stayed there until I heard a loud banging and went upstairs to hear what was going on. My sister had locked herself in her room on the second floor and my mom was beating the door in with a pool stick trying to get to her.

I don't know what came over me, but I finally decided to stand up and do something. I went to the kitchen grabbed a steak knife and a tin can and ran up the stairs and whacked her over the head with the can. I threatened her with the knife and told her to leave my sister alone.. blah blah blah.

She called the police and told them I was going to kill her.. put on a really good show. I was just sick of seeing her get drunk and beating my sister up. I wasn't a bad kid at that point... but sure enough they stuck my sister and I in a police car and shipped us off the juvie.

I remember this big black lady watching me take a shower with this lice shampoo stuff.. and being next door to some kid who threatened his class with a gun at school. I was mega scared.

Shortly after that they put my sister and I in foster care.. in separate homes.

I've never been in any legal trouble besides that.

I did 4 weekends in the county jail when if was 23 for DUI. It was pretty laid-back. We could sleep when we wanted to and they they let us have radios and such. All we did all day was play card games and listen to music. It still sucked though. We were lovked up and had to endure awful jail food.

Oh great therapy for a suicidal kid. Put them in a situation which makes them more depressed.

yea but it was only weekends right? My friend got his second dui and had to do this over the summer.

I've been in and out of jail probably a handful of times throughout the years...generally for petty stuff though {like shop-lifting, or public intoxication} and more often then naught - never for more then a day or two ata time

the longest I was ever incarcerated for wasa month...and that was for skipping state ona six month probationary period I got for a breaking-an-entering charge I picked up back in my hoodlum days {which, coincidently, turned into both a thirty day stint in Joe Arpio's infamous Tent City and an additional two years worth of probation after the fact}

needless to say - I learned my lesson after that one  :lol:

3 months last time, 8 days the time before it.  Pretty crazy experience because I was withdrawling from methadone the one time, and I was kicking heroin/methadone/xanax the other time.  I didn't really sleep for first 2 weeks, was a pain in the ass for all my bunkies because I was dope sick.  When I eventually got better I met a bunch of people, lots of cool people,and a lot more pieces of shit.  Jail sucks, but you manage on keeping your self busy doing some type of shit.  I used to like fucking with the COs and just acting like a retard to amuse myself.

heres the best thing that happened when i was in jail

so about 2 months in i got asked if i wanted to be a trustee in the intake section of the jail; thats where all the new inmates would stay, usually a few days, before they got classified and moved to other sections.

i didnt really know beforehand how it would be in that section, but it turned out to be the one of the best places to be a trustee at, meaning it was one of the best places to be an inmate at period.

why? let me tell you hwhy. because that section is those 10 man dorm cells i was talking about except it doesnt suck because the 2 trustees that work intake get their own freakin dorm room!

AND they get to chill outside their cells most of the day and watch tv, make phone calls, go out to the yard, flirt with the hot blonde guard i was about to fuck.:naughty:, etc.

I was able to change my clothes and stay fresh everyday,
we got extra plates, unrestricted commissary (food) orders which was cool as fuck cause ramen soups, soda, beef jerky and coffee are restricted.

and free meds and free haircuts!

oh and all the other inmates have to respect the shit out of you cause you have control of their food and their clothes.
had dudes callin me Boss and shit.:grin:
