Thats open for debate Pris. This comment I'm about to make does not have anything to do with Teddy. I'd rather have a hard line alcoholic have 2 or 3 beers in the morning before driving to work than watch him get behind the wheel hungover, shaky, and craving a drink. To an alcoholic with a high tolerance 2 or 3 beers is like a glass of coffee in the morning.
never met a hardline alcoholic that was a great guy, most tend to be beligerant assholes, I grew up around too damned many, I've seen the 'nice guy' side, it becomes increasingly less visible as the alcohol goes in the system.

totally...or worse...
a lot of people, hopped up on anti-depressants or add/adhd medication, as well as drinking coffee all day at work....
Give me the regular alcohol user with a few beers in his system any day.

the only people I've ever seen with caffeine jitters were eating no-doze like they were going out of style, last time I checked, coffee increased alertness, it didnt impair you

I guess I shouldn't have used the term hardline alcoholic. (even though there are good guys who are hardline alchys) What I was really trying to say is this: If you have a tolerance to alcohol 2 or 3 drinks is like drinking a couple of soda's. I don't agree with that comment you made.

Shit, a few beers increases my alertness better than coffee
I don't get why we are debating drunken driving in here though since his arrest doesn't seem to have anything to do with him being drunk and driving that night.

That's also open to interpretation. I didn't really mean like super physical caffeine jitters, perhaps an exaggeration, but nevertheless, I've experienced it and seen it impair people.
A low dose of caffiene isn't typically found in 90% of caffienated products. It's usually quite a substantial amount.
It is one of the nastiest drugs. I have just as much merit as you in saying, with a few caffienated products in your system(assuming you are a regular coffee drinker) is just as, or more in my opinion, dangerous as having a few drinks in a regular drinkers system.

personal responsibility... I believe that would mean he got insurance, took care of the warrants and got his license, what he's doing is spending a few nights in county lock up, it's not like it's really that bad, there are no gang rapes, no risk of being shanked, the worst he;s gonna have to suffer through is the food in a few days he'll see a judge, and assuming the warrant isnt a probation hold or a failure to appear, he'll be released for 10% of the original bond or even on his own recog... of course, he wont be getting his car back since it's uninsured and he has no license unless he corrects that.

yeah, and with insurance, the family that was hit can get a replacement vehicle, their injuries can be treated without paying out of their own pocket possibly ruining christmas for little johnny since dad couldnt get to work after the family car was totaled and the bills didnt get paid.
see my sympathy would lie with the victims, not with the perpetrator. as I said before, his karma was served, he did bad, he recieved bad... it all balanced out.

the why in fact would 'having a few drinks and driving home' have even been mentioned, we never learned what his BAC was, how do we know he wasnt drunk, at least by the letter of the law... my step dad went three days without a drink, he still recieved a DUI for .32 BAC
