The wealthy redistribute wealth all the time by buying shit that people make.  But they are under no obligation to do so.  Democrats want to send other people's money to Haiti.  There is no lack of voluntary philanthropy in the US.  What do you think will happen to any government aid sent to Haiti through Haitian government channels?

Daddy?  Daddy made his money and if he wants to give to his ne'erdowell brats, well that is his prerogative.  You have no claim to it.

And once again we have somebody who doesn't understand that not being exceptional is the same as being an idiotic bum.  It isn't.

I'm not even going to pretend I understand this, since it involves laying a value judgement on imaginary characters.

However, the rich definitely don't buy all the shit people make. To be honest I don't give 2 shits about Haiti, the real problem is Americans who don't give. A free market doesn't exist or work. This is where philanthropists have stepped in in the past, but now they just put all the debt burden on a government structure that is quickly becoming a joke. Also the wealthy have encouraged illegal immigrants to come and enrich them, they break all laws by simply paying off the courts, and Daddy should think about paying his neighbors so he doesn't get robbed by his 2nd amendment loving impoverished neighbors.

It is certainly true that there is no completely free market but that doesn't have a thing to do with philanthropy.  And the debt burden is a direct result of politicians being philanthropic with other people's money.  On both sides of the aisle but mostly Dems.

It's not delusional to say that there are many illegal immigrants holding jobs, and many American workers who could use them. An argument for capitalism shouldn't be used to defend illegal methods of taking money from the poor. If these people bothered to stand in the long lines I've seen other immigrants stand in to gain legitimate entry into the country, then there might be something to defend, but the system is entirely corrupt, and bankrupted by the wealthy. Capitalism is not a defense for corruption, It is a theory on the behavior of markets. It doesn't justify criminal activity to say ohh but I'm paying for it. It's like killing someone and saying here take my wallet, my bad.

If the wealthy own the land, and pay illegals to profit from it, then yes, they do care about illegals. Making money isn't wrong. Breaking the law to do it is. Why is E-verify optional? It is optional because wealthy employers don't want to give up the profit they earn from people willing to work for next to nothing. This is also why the average American's wages don't rise. Not caring and breaking the law are not mutually exclusive.

It's not about making money...  They could always do that.  It's about making all the money.  The problem is, once you have all the money, everyone around you has none.

I like to have people who think wealth redistribution is a bad idea go through this thought exercise...

If you lived in a village of 100 people, and 5 of them had all the shit and were causing the others real hardship while they built golf courses in their backyards, the other 95 would be chumps to just let it slide and keep starving, right?  Or is that right, just because the majority is not "exceptional" enough?

Whatever happened to giving a shit about the "least of my brothers?"

My brother in law has his own business as an electrician.  He told me it isn't hard to find people at all to work for him--it's finding people that want to actually work for the paycheck.  And he pays better than average wage, and gives them health benefits.  Consider these 2 people he had when considering who to let go.  One of them was a young guy, just out of school.  A good worker, but often late, stoned, or disinterested.  Or this Mexican guy he hired, (*yes, he has what appears to be legit credentials to work in the US, though he is from Juarez) When my brother in law opens shop, usually 7:30~8am, this mexican guy is already there, doing something like sweeping, or pulling weeds beside the building, etc.  And he attacks every job and learns it inside and out, and gets it perfect.  Real pride in his work.  If there isn't any work to do, he'll grab a mop and clean the floors.  Which one do you think my bro is going to keep?  (This is a real story)

Right on.  Except everyone who goes to work stoned isn't a worthless employee, and a Mexican isn't the answer to everyone's labor problems.

I'm white, go to work high, and take an unusual amount of pride in the excellent work I do.  I enthusiastically work hard at the things I do, and take pride in everything.  If it's not worth doing well, it's not worth doing.

Lol you're delusional if you think that's why all the richest people have so much money.

It certainly helps you and you definitely have a point,  but what i'm trying to get at is that things like "ability to lie, evil genius, egotism, extortion expertise, assassination, crime, moral deficit, governmental influence etc."  Go hand in hand with the richest people in the world a lot of the time too. 

Look at the Rothschild banking dynasty for example,  or the Rockefeller oil barons  funding both sides of a war for profit etc.


It's not all about hard work and natural talent,  it takes a sick and twisted mind to desire, value, and hoard that much wealth with no value (or disdain!) for morals and ethics.


Honestly,  what you're saying sounds like something one of those egotistical wealth maniacs would say to justify to himself taking advantage of someone in a less fortunate position without care for morals or ethics - only money and power.

I'm just wondering how they know how wealthy people are...  does Forbes have direct access to all those people's financial records or something?

I would say some key people are left out,  or opt not to be on the list etc.
