you might be on to something. I am not sure of the nutritional needs of mushrooms, but it looks like brown basmati could be a better alternative to brown rice.

If fat isn't essential, I know wild rice has more protein and 4x the vitamins and folate than brown rice.

I've tried and it works. However substrate composition is not that important as long as the sub is nutritious. I have used buckwheat flour, brown bread flour, chickpea flour, rice flour, and many other things. The keys to a successful grow are FAE and water, not substrate composition :wink:
