Okay - whats your suggestion to keep it clean then?

It'll be hard to do when each satellite is the size of Djibouti

Wow lol. You guys are something else. I now hand this thread over to the people.
Have a fantastic day  :hi:

Approximately 95% of the objects in this illustration are orbital debris, i.e., not functional satellites.

Anything else to add??

Well I think it might be important to note that each of those objects is about 1/10000000 the size presented in either photo but yeah...

Also, as satellites, they're electronically capable.
As such, many electronics contain/require/utilize Mercury (Hg).

Hg is toxic.

It is a pollutant/contaminant.

Therefore, the space around earth is polluted.

Nah.

Eventually the satellites will be pulled into earth's orbit, thereby vaporizing the silicon, aluminum/steel, Hg, iron, etc... whatever the fuck makes those up.

Then the vapor will cause prollums for the next intelligent/dominant lifeforms (likely insects).

Humanity.  Fuck yeah.

Sattelites, by definition, are in Earth's orbit. :picard:

How so? Don't you realize that the amount of matter that makes up every single satellite is infinitesimally small compared to the matter that makes up the entire atmosphere?

Is it really so hard to provide a link?

I've never heard that before, and I'd like to see some evidence, why would you expect me to just take your word for it?

This is all you posted, I don't see a link anywhere. I asked you for a link, remember? What have you smoked on today? :braindamage:

I posted the wrong quote to the wrong photo.

"NASA explains that the low Earth orbit region of space is "the most concentrated area for orbital debris."

NASA says of this image (and the following two pictures):

The following graphics are computer generated images of objects in Earth orbit that are currently being tracked. Approximately 95% of the objects in this illustration are orbital debris, i.e., not functional satellites. The dots represent the current location of each item. They may not be as big. But they are there none the less. Fucking shit fest up there.

Still no link. You usually impress me, dude, but this time you've really done it.

Why can't you just provide a link? Is that really so fucking hard for you? If so, I'd like to know why, I really would. :imslow:

I cant provide a link directly from nasa. But im sure if you did some digging on ur
own you would find what ur looking for. Not gona do the work for you. Im sure you are
not interested anyways.

don't you realize that when things fall through the atmosphere towards earth they burn up?  And that the atoms aren't changed, and only the state of the matter is changed?

i.e. it goes from solid to gas.

It takes a long time for a gas to coagulate and become solid again.  And all of those atoms which were transformed into gas will float around the atmosphere for a long time.  Sure, the concentrations will be small, but so is the concentration of pollutants emitted from your car. (figuratively your, as I know you don't have a car )

Either way - these satellites and debris will fall back into earth.

I don't know about those particular atoms, but I know that some atoms go through chemical changes when subjected to extreme heat. Either way, my point that the amount of matter that makes up all those sattelites is insignificant still stands.

Tri High said:

That depends on the environment.

The pollutants emitted frome every single internal-combustine engine vehicle I've ridden is way more than the amount of matter that makes up those sattelites.

How do you know I don't have a car anyways?

Tri High said:

Not necessarily, they may remain in the atmosphere forever.

define forever, fruit.

chemical changes when subjected to heat?  like...vaporization?  which is essentially turning from solid - gas :flowstone:

The rate at which gases become solids does, indeed, depend on environment.

All of the matter contained in those satellites is greater than the total matter that's been put through combustion powered vehicles you've ridden.

I know you don't have a car because I know you in real life.
