yes, manure is great. you should try putting manure tea in with your cake substrate to. Just mix water and manure and/or compost strain it, pre sterilize it by boiling it and then add it to substrate.

how is this smell wise? I would rather have 1 to 3 flushes and smaller shrooms than 4 to 6 flushes, larger shrooms and a shitload (no pun intented) of smell...

I have seen pictures of the wonders that manure can accomlish with getting some good growth. I am going to be using a two chamber terrarium, and I am wondering: What is the best technique for combining the cakes and manure and then placing them in the casing?
The method I heard was to break up your colonizred cakes in a frezzer bag and mixwith moist dookie, but I am unclear on how to get it to grow from there in my terrarium. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Manure is great. It boosts your yields and produces large, beautiful fruits.

phrozendata: It does not smell like shit, and is not unpleasant. The smell is like rich soil, because that's basically what it is. Just be sure to collect manure that is dried up and a little bit old (but not too crumbly and dusty).

slowdiver: I prefer to mix my substrate with manure directly in trays, let them colonize, then case them. Some people, like realfunguy, like to "case" their substrate with a layer of manure (this is not a true casing, though, because the manure is digested by the mycelium, which would make it another substrate layer instead of a casing layer). If you were to colonize the manure in a plastic bag, you would have to break everything up in order to fit it into a tray.

Placebo is right, manure like compost, hay, cakes and such is a substrate(a nutrient source) casing is a source of moisture but remember that however you case after these methods, yields are increased!..GoodLck!
