shotguns are great for close quarters but they're far from optimal for home
defense, it's better to to buy a pistol and train because long guns suck in
tight areas regardless of the scatter you'll get from a shot load, a pistol
allows you to remain safe while rounding a corner, shot guns cant let you
draw a bead until your in the line of fire

not to mention that a shotgun is a shitty concealed weapon

And, truth be told, I've been a reader for quite some time now but just recently registered for the purpose of accessing grow logs. In a completely hypothetical world, I may know of a guy who has a fantastic Martha going that would love to create a log and post when complete. But that would require registering...maybe I'll let him use my username :wink:

Wouldn't this affect self defense due to them being able to twist it so drugs are involved even if I'm stone cold sober when it happens?

What's so fucking hard about asking a friend if you can stash them at his house? I mean shit, you have friends that will sell you AR-15's, I doubt they'd have any qualms about holding your shit for a little while.

Noone I would trust period... and what how long am I supposed to wait a week a month a year? It's just not realistic..

My glass collection is my passion in life and I hope to open a high end head shop in my area someday. I wouldn't trust it with anyone but immediate family.

Because even if your not capable of stealing your capable of not caring and being a wreckless stoner.

Yeah, what state? Self defense laws vary from state to state. There are a few states that have adopted a "castle doctrine" which means that you can defend yourself against anyone impeaching upon your property.

Most states require you to make a reasonable attempt at retreat (run the fuck away) and only then can you use force that matches that of your assailant.

So if the guy comes barging into your house wielding a butter knife, you can't defend yourself with a Dillon Minigun...

Shotgun for home defense.  I like the Mossberg 590-A1, it's only 18.5" long with a 9-shell tube on it.  You can also add a bayonet.  You'll want to load alternating buckshot and slugs.

I also feel that either a 1911 or .357 Magnum are the best handguns for home defense.  .45 ACP or .357+p hollow point round will put anyone down and has a much lower likelihood of finding its way into a neighbor's house in the event of a shootout.

For a rifle, I think the AK-47 is the most overlooked weapon.  Make sure it's Russian in origin; the SAIGA is nice.  AR-15s are great but require more maintenance.  Plus, the 7.62 NATO round is far more abundant.

The most important thing isn't the weapon you choose, but how good you are at shooting it.  No gun is going to be worth owning if you don't make it out to the range to practice with it regularly.

This kid's lucky if he ends up getting arrested and doing some time.  Seriously, look at the alternative.

When I was a juvenile I was locked up with a couple kids who were in there for home invasion.  Got sent to level 8 programs, which are like 12-18 months.

if they're unused or clean there's nothing they can do, at that point it's
just collectors glass, your best bet is to have them stashed away, they
dont tend to do a search on a house of the victim but the investigators do
have a tendency to be nosy

sober or not you have the right to defend yourself, just make sure
you're not inebriated to the point that you cant communicate and always
limit your answers to the shortest, most direct and non incriminating
answer you can give, given that you've already had contact with the cops
regarding this guy and his plotting, there shouldnt be an issue
claiming self defense
