Mega-dance parties known as raves are popular among today's youth. But, as Ben Tracy reports, these raves also serve as a potentially fatal venue for drugs and other illicit activities.

omg the news pisses me off. i hate how they broadcast as if they know what they're talking about.... and a water bottle laced with the drug ecstasy??? is it just me or does that sound stupid as hell?

Out of almost 200,000 people, ONE person dies.

That's a better ratio than most Bonnaroos.

They do have a point, and nothing they said was obviously incorrect.

But, you're right, they could at least say the actual drug her bottle was 'laced' with, Ecstasy as many of us shroomerites know, isn't just MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine), and its contents vary widely.

The reporters should understand that if people want to go to a rave they're going to go to a rave, perhaps by giving advice from experts and experienced ravers on how to not die at a rave or how not to get your water bottle laced.

But of course, the television new's main goal is to make people only informed enough to scare them.

This type of shit is just so ridiculous. If they had something as simple as a place to test drugs it'd be SO much safer.. People knowing what they're really taking would make a BIG ass difference

That actually works really well especially at parties. I've put a gram of sass in a water bottle then passed it around to the fam and everyone takes a couple sips and passes it on. Makes dosing easier than passing a baggie around and everyone dipping their finger in it, spilling it, then desperate for some water after that sassy taste destroys their palate.

Kids are going to do this type of thing no matter what... Prohibiting raves will just push them underground, where it's potentially even less safe.

Maybe the producers of EDC should have focused more on providing a safe environment? I don't know, I wasn't there. :shrug:

people get taken to the hospital because they act stupid and dont know how to handle thier dr00gs properly, know what your taking, know your limit. ive seen many people get taken to the hospital while i was at a rave, its almost so normal to see you hardly even notice it anymore, kinda sad.
