My how they have  :mushroomgrow:  that's a nice cluster you have going on there.Look at how most of it is a nice,almost even canopy... :thumbup:

If that were mine I think I might try and take a few tissue samples,maybe do some agar work if I had the supplies or had the money to get the supplies  :strokebeard3:

So what size containers/tubs are these mini's...7 quarts,12 quarts,bigger?

This one here is a mini mono, the rest are still knotting up and what not.
I do plan on cloning one from the cluster, using a tek which I forgot the name.

I'm using the same container as the hybrids except, I did 6 1.5" holes. The substrate is 1 1/2" deep. I don't remember spawn/sub ratio on this one, but its a small scale. Maybe 3 quarts total, if that.

This is exactly how I did it. The hybrids that is.

Cool...I was just asking because when I actually get into working with agar and cloning and strain isolation I'd rather test any/all isolates in some mini monos...save space,while still being able to test and find the best candidate!

That's a nice box but for 46$ +shipping its not worth it. If your going to do a hybrid it doesn't need to be a tight seal since your drilling 1/4" holes around the whole thing, it won't make a difference. I paid 4$ for my tubs. I get mine at Big Lots, idk if you have one of those around your area. Even online, mine is a Sterilite 1876.

I wasn't thinking about a hybrid...just a regular old mini mono.Only reason I like that 20 quart airtight is I've always liked lids that seal perfectly (which is a rarity with lids/totes that don't have a gasket).
