hello. whats the smallest size of a cake i can go and still have successful pinning? like if i cut one of my cakes in half to make two cakes, would it still pin as good and produce as much if never cut? i have about a 1/4 of a leftover 1/2 pint cake that i cased in small breadpan. there was no room in the pan, but i wanted to keep it around. would this small of a clump still be capable of pinning and producing fruit if exposed to fruiting conditions? it's GT if that helps. thanks.

wow. interesting. well i cased it in a small plastic tupperware w/ some other mycelia that i had in a jar w/ re-wetted antient cow/horse shit that i found in our pasture. the mycelia loves it surprisingly and i didn't even have to sterilize. so now i have 3 casings in containers that are no bigger than 2''wx4"lx1.5"h. should i be expecting much out of these small containers? its like a mirco gro. and i have one pin so far, and i think it's from ecuador mycelia(one casing has GT/EQ mixed mycelia). we'll find out when it gets bigger. keep ya informed. thanks for all replies. still open for comments. dalorean
