Slipknot Bass Player Found Dead.

Not that I'm a Slipknot fan, but they are from my home state.

Police say the bassist for the Iowa metal band Slipknot has been found dead in a suburban Des Moines hotel room.

Urbandale police say a hotel employee found 38-year-old Paul Dedrick Gray dead in a room at the Town Plaza Hotel. Foul play wasn't suspected.

The Polk County Medical Examiner's Office plans an autopsy Tuesday.

Most Slipknot members grew up in the Des Moines area. The band, known for its grotesque masks, released its first album in 1999. It sold more than 1 million copies.

My bet is some combination of prescriptions (i.e. not intentional).. probably some OC mixed with a benzo.

Damn that sucks!!! I really like Slipknot and the bass player was good. I am sure they will find a replacement though. At least Joey Jordison the drummer didn't die because he would be hard to replace. R.I.P.

They arent that bad, I mean I dont like that type of music. But they have won lots of different awards for their music.

They used to come in and get pizza from a shop I used to work at. All of em are pretty nice guys. They definatly didnt act all snooty cuz they were rich.

They are one of the more tasteful metal bands. They don't have those obnoxious blast beats and continous double bass throughout the entire song and the singer actually sings, he doesn't just scream incoherently. I like them.

Never was a big fan of slipknot, but that does suck...  Heroin would be my guess, or a combo including it...
