    #12615427 - 05/23/10 05:35 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

found on my lawn which is pretty well traversed by pooping animals, although not found directly in feces. I apologize for the poor quality in photography. I'm pretty new to mycology and help in identification is appreciated, thanks guys.
Suspected Panaeolina foenisecii
Spore print on the way

Psychoactive mushrooms don't grow from dung in Pennsylvania, I don't think.

Thank you for the speedy replies, and I think you're on to something Bob. I chose a slightly darker cap to make the spore print and the gills are almost brown. I will keep you updated.

I believe Bob is correct.  I have a lot of foenisecii up in my yard now here in PA.  And we do have active species and they are currently fruting on woodchips.

Perhaps the one i'm currently printing is of a different species. It looks much like the first photo except darker and brown gills. The print is coming along and it looks almost brown also.

Are you printing one of the mushrooms in the pictures?

I'm printing both one included in the pictures and one not. The print for the one not in the picture now seems to be a faint black, and has been printing for about an hour. I must have mistakenly assumed that they were the same species, being growing next to eachother. More photos soon to come.

That's something different. It may be Panaeolina foenisecii.
