i finally got my old man to stop shopping at wal mart

took 6 years but he finally admitted his addiction for that awful place, and now shops at local places (some times target)

Dude never eat wal-mart meat.

I used to be a meatcutter and trust me, you want someone RIGHT there in the store cuttin' the cow quarters from Cargill for you, not some second middleman corporation adding EVEN MORE gunk into your meat.

And if you go to a grocery store with a meat cutter they usually grind their own hamburger meat from scraps (we did, the taste was noticeably better than the pre-ground stuff we had too).

It doesn't have to be non-corporate meat, but it needs to be processed in-store.

They (Wally world) process that shit so heavily, they pack it in carbon monoxide, and add red food coloring. Unnecessary processing.

I don't even understand the point of eating steak if you're going to shop at wal-mart. It seems almost oxymoronic. I'd rather just cook something in the microwave than eat wal-mart meats.

Only buy tyson products for meat there. Chicken and pork are the only ones I trust, other than that wal mart kicks ass. People bitch because they are a corporation so they shot at target and Hy-Vee? Same shit new name higher prices.

He said he was shopping local now though so I'm hoping its for the bigger picture i.e. they employ tons of people and pay them enough that they're all still on government assistance then turn around and spend the checks they get from walmart at walmart so walmart can buy all they're shit over seas. Walmart is one huge leach on our country.

I made $12 an hour when I was 18 at wal mart and that's a good amount of money here in Kansas for a shitty job. "Local" stores paid $5.65 cents an hour, gave you shitty random days and hours to work and did not garuntee you hours at all. While wal mart had a set schedule and I never worked less than 39 hours a week as long as I didn't call in or leave early. I also did spend some of my money at wal-mart like you said. I paid about half price comparted to other stores so I think "local" stores can lick my balls.

It was the 25 checkouts and only 2 open and when you ask someone for help you get "I only work hear" :mad2: that did it for me....

They can't let all employees have access to registers and honestly if you don't like the way they run it you wouldn't be hurting them any. South park did a great episode about this, every one hates wal mart and yet every one goes there. Wal Mart isn't going any where so if you choose to hate it you will just pay some one else who is greedy and lose more money for your self.

I'm all for supporting local business and currently work for a local business owner who pays us well and covers our benefits. Walmart probably will never go away and they may even rule the entire world one day, but they can still suck my balls and I bitch about that place & definitely don't ever ever go there even if I can get  t.v  for like 15 bucks.

Walmart sucks, I just buy something there if I need it ASAP and am willing to technically waste my money on tools because everything I buy from there doesn't seem to last over a week. :bored:

Its because they are huge and rich and getting richer and have the potential to help OUR country but don't. and because they are so huge if they were to change some of their ways, it would make a substantial impact.

that's a load of shit, the average pay for floor personnel is around
$10/hr, you cant get government assistance if you're pulling $1600/mo
unless you're cranking out babies at break neck speeds, just because a
couple of people are drawing welfare and working walmart doesnt mean
they're all eligible and it certainly doesnt explain a damn thing about
the welfare recipient's situation

the average pay for median employees, managers, loss prevention, ect is
$45k/year, even an assistant manager at walmart makes $41k

They wouldn't give their money away to people who just can't cut it and I'm pretty sure they have sales tax on every dollar just like all the other stores. Should they donate their money to the government or what? Also they give far more money to charities and each store donates to the community in which it is located.
