Vancouver Smart Shops/all around cool stops?

Are there any "smart shops" in Vancouver the likes of what is found in Amsterdam?  If not, are there any cool coffee shops or hangout or whatever where tokin' is tolerated?  Is herb legal in BC?  Sorry, I'm kinda ignorant about the laws there.  If it's legal, is there an age restriction or something?

Could someone clue me in on what you can get away with in Vancouver and where some cool places to 'get away with' stuff are? I'm goin there today so I's curious.

Weed and mushrooms are illegal in British Columbia still.

there are all kinda of places you can go to and smoke...but they dont sell it.

like blunt bros. for example.

there are places in new york like that i believe.

Ok, I got back from Vancouver today and that's not  quite what I experienced.  There was one place with a smoking cafe downstairs and a "smart shop" of sorts upstairs.  But I suppose revealing any details would be against the rules.

Vancouver is a rad place. :stoned:  It's the first time I've ever legally toked in a public setting.  (parties don't count, they're essentially private)  It was such a good, normalizing experience.  I think if what's going on in places like BC continues, decriminalization and normalization of pot may come easier than we think.  Maybe I'm being hopelessly optomistic.

Ok.  It's on the "pot block".  There's a big sign on the street and everything.  At the intersection of Hastings and Cambry downtowm.  The name of the cafe is The Little Amsterdam.  You can sit and play chess and listen to good house tunes and of course  :stoned:. Had the place been full of people drinking it would have been at least three times as loud :mad:.  Upstairs from there is a little place that offers entheogens of sorts. They had some ayahuasca makings, smoking blends, blue lotus, HBWR, damiana, various cacti seeds, stuff like that.  They also offered  :mushroom2: and :stash: .  The upstairs shop even has a name and a sign just off the street.  It's a legit storefront with a listing in the phone book and everything, but everything is real down low when you go up. The guy at the counter likes to speak real softly and everything, it's funny.

haha.

glad you had a good time. vancouver is a great city. although i generally avoid hastings liek the plague once sun hits the mountians. i think i may check it out next time i hop the puddle. i dont know about in the city, but i almost always walk down the street with a joint. no biggie, cant be bitched at as that would make them people total fucking hipocrates.

Do you live in Vancouver? I'm probably coming there in the next month for a vist. Any suggestions on where I should go. I'm totally ignorant of the scene there...please educate me.
