Steelers draft 80 outside linebackers in the 2010 draft

Seriously, what the fuck, not happy.


I know Lebeau likes to bring in projects and works them in for a while before letting them start, but this is kind of excessive if you ask me.


Pauncy I'm happy with, but past that it makes no sense.  Why would you draft 3 straight outside linebackers when your two starters just made the pro bowl again?


I'm really not happy with how my team's been drafting since Tomlin came on, honestly, he's not the best drafter and I think it might start to catch up with us.

3 LB's in the draft, plus one undrafted rookie.  The reason(s);  the Steelers are trying to improve their Special Teams.  That unit last year was unforgiving. They needed more 'quality' depth at LB, Harrison turns 32 next week, and Woodley is in his final year of contract(which I am sure he'll be asking BIG money).

It may seem excessive, but that is a demanding position.  And what a better way to have a group of young LB's that can improve and gain an incredible amount of knowledge from the outstanding LB's that are already in place.  That said, the Steelers know their LB's as that is the number one position that goes to the Pro bowl from the Steelers.

The thing that bugs me is that they only drafted one Defensive back, Crezdon Butler in the 5th.  This bothers me as that unit got BURNED last year without Troy in there.

I'm ready for some football to start!

It's a good point.  And you're right about Woodley.  I didn't really think too hard about that one.


As for Harrison, I think he'll be good for a while, but u bringing up his age is still a valid arguement.


But yeah what really bugged me was the lack of DB's.  Especially cornerback.  I dont even remember the last time we drafted a cornerback in the early rounds....Chad Scott?

lol.  That depends on what you consider "early."

Bryant McFadden was chosen in the 2nd round in 2005..Oddly, I just learned that he is back with the Steelers in a trade from Arizona.  That's good news, even though he was terrible with the Cards. 

Ricardo Colclough was also a 2nd round pick the previous year.  FLOP!

Last year the Steelers drafted Keenan Lewis in the 3rd round, and Joe Burnett in the 5th.  I really like what I seen in Burnett last year, he was super impressive.
