How to get a referred to accupuncture?

Anybody know how to get a primary practioners referral for accupuncture? I need to follow this circuitous route for the sake of my insurance.

I do have scoliosis, and in fact I just attended a workshop on this condition. Honestly though, there is no diagnostic reason that I am interested, and I don't really have any back problems other than a lack of balance and feeling blockages (has more to do with breathe). Actually what I want to check out is a pain in the neck I get when I am tripping lately.

Anyone have any suggestions of how should I go about this?

ask him/her for a referral? it's not like you are asking for a script for pot or oxy.

just about all PCP's would give you a referral for accupucture or Chiropractics or some other such alternative medicine if you explain that you have a pain in your neck and need a referral for insurance purposes.

if your PCP won't then go find a new internist.
