Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry!!!
It's tough having a friend at the end of their rope. I love animals, the sad thing about having so many is that it's so depressing when they leave this world to move on to their next life.
I know she loves you very much and you love her as well. But when she finally goes, don't mourn too much. I'm sure she would want you to move on and enjoy life to the fullest. The only thing pets want is for their owners and best friends to be happy.
My prayers go out to Casey along with my love and best wishes.
[hearts] always!
Love, A_S

I'm so sorry - I've got three cats (7, 2 and 1 years old) and they all send their love.... My eldest (Seymour) had a lucky escape with a car a few years ago and I can imagine what you are going through.
Just enjoy the time you have left with Casey

Pets are awesome friends that bring you a lot of good moments. They can also bring a lot of sadness sometimes. I had a dog and a cat that died on me also.
We just have to understand they'll have a smaller life cycle than ours and that sometime they'll just have to go. You have to accept it. Just like you do when someone close dies.
Aren't the good moments Casey brought you enough to make up for this awful moment? Think about it when you say you don't want more pets...
I'm really sorry for Casey Try to make sure she enjoys the time she's got left around you...

There are no words to express the loss of a pet.
I recently had to put down my 4 year old dalmatian, Chief. He was fine one day, then next he was lying in a pool of his own saliva, too weak to move. Three days, and a grand in vet bills later, I held him in my arms as the vet injected the pink liquid into his arm (God, I feel like a pussy, I'm tearing as I'm writing this). Chief was my first dog, and he was MY dog, glued to my leg.
It was the hardest thing I have ever been through, and after I went through it, I didin't want a dog of my own for a while, if ever. But fate had different plans, and a few months after Chief's passing, my friend tells me he has this great dog that he has to take to the pound because of his current lease, so I tell him that I'll take care of him until his lease ran out, needless to say, I now am the daddy of a 90+ pound German Shepherd. Thor
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I know how hard it is to loose a pet, but please don't close yourself out to future pets. Take care, and love Casey while you got her.

Very sorry to hear this Boxtop. I've always had cats ever since I was little. My parents house was inhabited by anywhere from 3-5 cats at any one time, 8 total in my 21 years. I've had to put down 4 in my life time, including a kitten who was dieing of feline lukemia. All of our cats adopted us...all of them were rescued when they somehow wound up on our door step. I hope that you reconsider having another pet, especially a cat, they are very special creatures. Best wishes to you both.

An ex-girlfriend of mine had a cat with a similar problem. She had the tumors removed, and they came back relatively fast. The doctors gave her six months to live so we took her to a holistic vet which gave her some kind of concoction. She also did a little research and found an article suggesting that feeding the cat something rich in omega 9 fatty acids could slow down the cancer. She started to give the cat fish oil in her food every single day along with the medicine the vet gave her, the tumors stopped growing, and the cat lived much longer than the six months stated by the original veterinarians. Give fish oil a thought, it can't hurt.
