I read the faq and am still confused a bit, can you leave the casing/substrate mix in the fruiting chamber before fruiting? and also, in the faq it says that during post casing time you should avoid fanning and air exchange but then it talks about using holes in the container. I am going to use a playmate cooler and was wondering if this is ok for the pre fruiting stage to use

well some people say not to fan it until you see the mycelium in the valleys. starting the fanning will provide the means for fruiting conditions if coupled with light. and also to sustain your crop u do need air exchanges or u will get a larger % of aborts.

So about how much air exchange and in what method would i use to achieve this, would an aquarium pump do a good job?

the key before putting it in is to key co2 in there. by that you can cover it w/foil and put like 5 holes in it.
Yes, you can put it in the fruiting chamber right away
Some people even cover it with foil and leave it on a regular shelf till it pins..

OOOps i meant to say.
its ok to put it in the fruiting chamber, just dont fan it yet.
let all that old co2 air sit inside, and yes the predrilled holes above the perlite is ok to leave open.

What do you mean about the predrilled holes above the perlite? where does perlite come in to play,? Sorry I am very new and inexperienced

That was kinda shitty typing.
I had two things mixed up.
Ok, after you make the casing cover it with foil and put 5-10 small pin wholes in it.(this will keep co2 inside)

Next, the fruiting chamber, this is where you get your clear(glovebox) or sterlite bin, put perlite in it (about 1 inch), drill about 2 holes on each side just above the perlite..

K- after its been covered for five days with foil, then put it in the fruiting chamber , fan 3-5 times daily, boom.

Thanks for the advice. Should there be water added to the perlite? and also would an aquarium air pump be good instead of fanning?
