Are shrooms still growing?

Hey all,
I thought shrooms only grew around the months of June-October. It seems like many of you have still been finding some. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. What type of areas(parks, fields, etc.) are the best to look in? Are they still growing this time of year in my area? Please reply, thanks.

Bay area is pretty good right now.

What kind of mushrooms are you looking for? Different mushrooms grow in different conditions you know.

I went out today, before it had rained, and everything looked pretty dry with the break i nthe storm we've been having. today's and tonight's rain should bring another flush of fresh fungi... the weather is right.. could get a bit colder again, however.

check places with thick green vegetation, multiple layers of life. bushes, grasses, trees... stay away rom redwoods. nothing good grows under redwoods.. :tongue:

If you're not interested only in actives then mushrooms grow year round. They're most abundant in late summer & autumn.
