As for hardcore Opeth, Still Life still remains my all time favorite

A few more of my favorites.

Very moving song here.

Black Metal Behemoth, not that their new stuff isn't good, but I love this song.

Love early Burzum

hey hpi, what's your favorite Old Man's Child album?

mine is definitely Born of the Flickering. There is something about the ambiance of that album that is just great. It basically sounds like the album cover, which is an awesome thing for a black metal album imo

but i haven't heard all of the albums... I remember I once had a century media promo mix cd that had a song with really badass production, remembering that has got me wanting to hear more. I'll go back and listen to the songs you posted when I have more time

here is a great melodic instrumental from that album for the benefit of those who've never heard it. It's really good

and here is a more standard track from that album

Early Behemoth was great..

As for Opeth, they're last album was better than the few previous but the early shit like Orchid definitely stands out. I have to agree with a lot of it being formulaic though. Going into a studio and spending only 2 weeks writing doesn't cut it for me, at least the oldest stuff was worked over years. Great live band.

Check out Painted in Exile, possibly the next BTBAM :vaped:

All their shit is on their myspace. They are a local band but somehow are better than a lot of signed bands.

I love all of their albums but I'm gonna have to say my favorite ones are between 'Born of Flickering or I'll Natured Spiritual Vision.

Old mans child is a fucking amazing band! You might not like it when you first listen to them but after listening to them a few times you realize just how bad ass they ass!

How can anyone not like this?

Tohu Tehom Theli Than Leviathan Tanin'iver Taninsam!

There exists one lie that is the absolute worst. A lie that has successfully infiltrated many of the Western governments. This lie is Christianity, and it must be fought in every way, shape and form. Burn the churches and kill the priests. The abomination that is Christianity must be wiped from this Earth.
