"It is too bad that it was a hellish experience for you; however, you may eventually be able to integrate the dissolving nature of the experience more effectively by repeating it again over time. You will therefore retain more of the experience as you progress and it will become less menacing. You must "learn" how to let go effectively by addressing the fears that the experience reveals to you, otherwise you will continue to have the same "hellish" (fearful) experience. If you devote some time to reflect upon the issues that these states bring to your attention, you will eventually reach a state of perfect ease when confronted with the dissolution of your ego (this encompasses every-day situations as well as trips). This is why I recommend writing down your trips, even if this writing only consists of bits and pieces of dialogue, themes, or visions. They may relate to your psychic integration, because they are ultimately fragments released by your unconscious and, if you can make enough of these unconscious contents conscious, you will begin to wake up from the dream of reality which the experience is beckoning you toward."

im not sure how to overcome the fear.. its rather impulsive.. i dont mean or intend to be afraid.. its sorta like... if i allowed it to show me everything it wanted me to see.. id die of shock or completely lose my mind.... what your saying makes a lot of sense.. last night i attempted to smoke dmt and after the second toke i became panicked.. its as if the first time (now looking back i realized what was taking place) i had an experience where death was a strong theme, it was traumatizing.. i should probably mention, its what led me to this thread to begin with..i wanted to know if others had experienced the same thing and how to cope with it.. i felt a need to repeat the experience however terrifying.. this time i went deeper still..and was in fact able to better observe the experience, and instantly knew what direction it was heading in.. the dmt however little i was able to do, did not focus on a death theme.. but rather pointed out my fear and other "inner demons"..

its an incredibly odd experience to catch yourself in the "act of creation"

i always try to just keep watching the tv when the fear gets to a certin point. sometimes i'll talk to it or have a cig and calm down a lil.
untill someone str8 up gives me some DMT im not sure if i've experienced it. before we picked up the mush last night ( took all day to find) we were talking about maybe trying to get some DMT and smoke it while trippin.
but it generally still felt like a normal trip. the gal i like kept mentioning she shouldda gotten molly tho lolz

the thing is.. when its occurring.. nothing helps .. not tv not cig not friends not bud.. nothing.. its presence is far geater.. and my last trip was the hardest..i literally became the people i knew..everything is stripped away..none of it exists in that state.. everything is me.. i am everything.. there is no place to hide.. nowhere to run.. its everywhere

My friend, the worst thing you can do while tripping, in my experienced opinion, is to watch television. Just let go; trust me, you'll be okay and you'll come back. Just sit down with your legs crossed, close your eyes and lose yourself in the visions. This is much easier to do while alone, however, trust me. Yes, it is fun to communicate with others and watch the walls move, but there are visions to be experienced and lessons to be learned if you could just let go of your reality that holds you back.

The best setting that you can allow yourself to be comfortable enough to let go is, ideally, your own room, with your own music and all the time in the world to do whatever you want. Have some books and art available that you enjoy and most importantly of all, have some positive music ready to play in case you find yourself in a tight spot.

You should begin your trip by rolling joints and then smoking them until you start tripping.

This will curtail the pre-trip anxiety and allow you to gradually enter the elevated head-space without issue.

Please, do yourself a huge favor and don't trip for "fun".

You will be taught a harsh lesson eventually.

These are sacraments.

To merely take them to watch a movie or fuck around with friends only lasts so long before you are left in a really tight spot.

Never put yourself in a situation with other people who could potentially compromise your trip.

I have always been a solo-tripper, except of course, for when I first started out. My first few trips were with other people, but after that, I started experimenting on my own because I found it much more comfortable.

I realize that this is not for everyone, but going solo is often the best way to truly progress with your trips as you become experienced with these states of mind, because people can often hold you back from really "doing anything" constructively with your trip.

Trip to learn about yourself.

Just curious, how old are you?

i'm 21
i've been tripping on and off for the last 5 years. Usualy whenever i get the fear i just do the lil tv thing. after about half way through the trip i think more clearly and calm down some.
i just really wanted to trip with my gal cause i do like her a lot and she enjoys shrooms too. still unsure if i'll do it again.
solo trips are fun, but for different reasons. i still feel like i've learned something from my last trip however though. I'm unsure if people were telling me things or if i was thinking them aloud in my head. I've always looked at mushrooms as a learning tool.
i get a lot of confidence issues and over think when im shrooming tho btw

sometimes i wonder like when i'm tripping with other people is it out subconsience mind communicating with the other people on some sort of pre human level?
I dunno. i understand i over think a lot but when i was tryin to impress a girl and be myself i over complicated the matter by thinking too much
least i've learned from it

Tripping with my girl has always been pleasant; however, you do need to be prepared for anything and this means gauging your dose of whatever you're taking appropriately (not to mention making sure you have a completely secure place to do this). You should be an experienced tripper before you even attempt such an endeavor to begin with anyway, but it does depend on how much you are thinking about taking and what your respective tolerances are, obviously. These are things you need to think about before plunging into a 4-6 hour trip with someone else. What you bring into the trip between the two of you - your personal history and your current relations - will ultimately determine whether or not you will have a positive experience.

If you have any doubts about the person, i.e. trust issues etc, you shouldn't even entertain tripping with them. This should be obvious to everyone, but there are a LOT of people whom make the mistake of just jumping into a trip and it can lead to very negative experiences.

You should never take so much more than the other person that you are on a different plane entirely, because this could cause quite a bit of miscommunication, which can be catastrophic.

Start with lower doses.

I cannot stress this enough.

Other than that, if you're experienced; go right ahead.

I have had incredible experiences tripping with my girl; even when she is not actually tripping with me, her mere presence directs my trip toward a more positive theme of love and comfort.

The site of a woman while tripping is transfiguring.

When she also happens to be the person you love, this tends to have the effect of transforming your trip toward a realization of the wholeness to be found in love.

You cannot go wrong there.

As long as you have a mature relationship, that is.

i guess you understand me delima.
seems like you do to an extent.
i feel like im fairly experienced but there is still soemthing mushrooms must teach me. i usualy just have them as little teaching tools rather than that trip.
i agree with you saying "women tripping is transifguring"
it's just been so long since i've been in any situation similar to this i'm fairly unclear of what to do.
all i can try to do is learn from the thought i've had during this experience
had some good after glow off the trip. today has been optimistic feeling and holds hopes for a better tomorrow.

Just be careful.

And make sure you're in the right head-space.

i write on here mostly so one day i can compile a book of my stoney memories/ moments. Dunno if it'd sell but i've mostly just been adding trip reports here and there from time to time.
my grandfather has Alzheimer so writing down what ive done might help me remember one day once my memory starts fading.
i dunno..once i discovered these substances i felt like its some sort of calling to write my opinions about them. I've tried tripping and playing psychologist on my friends a few times with moderate success...kinda plan on trying to get one of my friends to quit drinking via entheogens. To do this i believe there has to be a revelation of death accompanied with the experience.
dunno why i added this. glad to have found this site has its helped with a lot of research i've had about drugs and my inner self
