turkey tail?

Habitat: On dead tree stump i found clearing out some blackberry bushes

Gills: white surface, very small pores.

Cap: multicolored, overlapping, wavy.

Bruising: None visible

Location: Oregon

They do look promising. I would assume they are indeed T. versicolor. Check them here in the Totally True Turkey Tail test.

Looks like T. versicolor to me. Is the cap fuzzy to the touch? The white pore surface underneath and the concentric layers of color on the cap are the most distinctive features for identifying this fungus.

It tastes sweetened to me, a damn sight better on the palate than poppy pod tea at any rate :smile:

See my recent turkey tail harvest here, I use the tea regularly to promote liver health. After drying, I grind the fruitbodies with a coffee grinder and drop in boiled water to steep.

Let us know how you think it tastes. Personally out of all the medicinal, herbal, and/or entheogenic teas I've consumed, turkey tail tea ranks in at least the top 3 for flavor :smile:
