I just bought some Kava Kava tincture... specifically the herb pharm kava.

How do you guys like Kava?

It's hard for me to tell at the moment because I am also on Vicodin, I am sick, and I put the forty drops in a large glass of water filled with ice and chugged it :lol: :puke:


I am thinking next time I'll use a smaller cup of plain water :awesomenod:

How do you consume it?

It supposedly works on GABA like xanax and it woks for anxiety

I researched Kava Kava greatly and came to the conclusion tincture's are a scam. I bought high quality Waka Kava or whatever it's called, and prepared it the traditional way, and had no effect, waste of $20. I tried it probably 5 nights in a row, still no effect oh well.

I'm immune to vicodin as well :lol:

I've always wanted to try it buy I mostly see people saying it has done very little if anything for them.

i tried my friend's tincture last year and didn't get any effects. then we decided to order some ground root bark and it worked very well.

best way:

get a cold liquid, either water or milk.
if water, mix with a few teaspoons of olive oil.
put your dose of kava into a coffee filter, and submerge the bag in the liquid for 20 minutes.

kavalactones are best extracted in cold fatty solutions.

it was a lot like a benzo, in that we weren't high, but we had a definitive shift in consciousness.

Well I feel something but am not confident enough to say what exactly. If it's not great I will definitely try powder. Did you guys put 40 or so drops and try it a few times cause it's reverse tolerant? Also- if they are best in fatty things should I try putting it in milk or syrup :lol: and doing it?

if you have the tincture, i don't think you really need a fatty solution.it should already be pretty concentrated. that's only really helpful when you are extracting it from the powder.

I ordered the Kona Kava a while back.  It's from Hawaii.  I tried their instant mixture with no effects, as well as their ground up root powder.  Second time I decided to go all out, so I bought 60 84% Kavalactone capsules, 1 ounce 84% paste, and 1 ounce 5x kava elixir.  Took it all in one go.  Everything.  Dripped the elixir right on my tongue, and it got extremely numb.... But even with like 60$ worth of kava products taken in one go, I felt absolutely nothing.  Well, other than a numb mouth.

Because the root powder is a healthy organic compound while the tincture is an extract.

thats the only effect i've ever gotten from kava either. the tinctures do NOTHING. the only way you'll get anything out of it at all is to get the root powder.

Yeah I bought cheesecloth, mashed up the Waka Kava (super good stuff apparently) and drank that deadly potion. Instant tongue numbness, but THAT IS IT.

Yeah, the powdered root didn't work for me either.  Nothing worked for me.  Perhaps I'm immune?  Maybe Kona Kava is bunk?  Who knows.

Kava's only really useful for anti - anxiety/sleeping problems, IDK what your goal is but if it's not for one of those I wuoldn't bother.

i dont know why, but i live in hawaii and here we have some pretty fresh ground kava at health food stores, and if you chug the load of it you definitely get a drunk/sort of stoned high, just make sure you dont vomit, as with the higher doses nausea is pretty common. I'd mix it with those vics and some weed, it makes for a gooood time

i remember when i got my order of the stuff. i tried it twice with no results n then i got fed up with it so i just dumped the rest of my kava in a milk shake i was making.. it was like 2-3 cups of the stuff. strained n drank, 30 mins later, i was the drunkest ive been in my life and i passed out. this stuff is definately no placebo. its a damn good benzo! just use more because it takes alot of the stuff to feel anything..

if you use benzos or opiates very often you may not notice the effects because they are definitely mild. it's probably about on the same level as codeine, so if you're an every day oxy user you aren't going to feel shit.

*and yeah tripp you are right, when you use the powder, you need quite a bit to get effects. i usually brewed about a pot of coffee's worth and then drank the whole thing.
