Mr. Mushrooms, you almost had it right. There's been some updates in the imamdumbfuckish language.

"1 2" = want to
"lik"= lick

Anyway, like AJ said, the taste would be horrible. Toad vemon is produced to repel preditors via taste. It's probably one of the most bitter tasting substances ever. If there is a known extraction for the 5-meo-dmt, I'd take that route. I can't say that I've ever gotten high on toad venom(I've inadvertently tasted it, though), so let us know how it goes if you find one.

And as someone said earilier, herpophyle("herp" is inclusive of reptiles and amphibians) would be more appropriate in this situation... Toads are amphibians afterall

That's just a myth: which is perpetuated by biologist and herpotologists cause they like toad venom so much.

Why not just buy the research chemical? Its almost like you have to kill the damn oad to milk it. How bad a taste? Worse than peyote?

I'd say you were

Milking is totally safe and presumed painless for the toad.

Reptiles are awesome creatures.  I wanted a toad.  Its either this psychoactive toad, or a pac man =)
I'm a collector!

the vennom tastes horrible, much like the repellant produced by ladybugs (not that i lick ladybugs or anything). and you tend to have to smoke more than "the size of a mach head" as stated in one of the guides at erowid. there are many extraction methods of varying efectiveness, resulting in products of varying purity. i believe a simple extraction in acetone would work, but i can't say for sure (i am uneasy around solvents).

the venmom of bufo alvaris contains bufotenine as well as the tryptamine derivatives. the venom must be smoked to insure that only the dmt is consumed. be warned that this animal is a controlled species and isnt legal to keep as a pet. it is also threatened in the wild due to overcollecting for the purposes of tripping balls off toad slime. milking and collecting the venom is also very stressful to the toad, so what kind of karma are you going to gret from tripping off of a toads fear reaction to you fucking with it and scraping its back off?

cyan, i though the reason it is endangered (at least in cali) was because it was delicately surviving in it's narural habitat untill is started spreading through irigation. these things have made it quite far up north and thier numbers are definately growing now.

the main range of this toad is more eastern than cali. Habitat destruction and pollution are main factors in the decline of all amphibian species around the globe. however, in addition to this large numbers of this species were collected from the wild in the 70's and taken for the purpose of ingestion. effectively, almost entire populations of this toad wwere decimated. furthermore, many people who didn't know better got very sick from the bufotenine when they licked the toads instead of smoking the dried venom.

You could not isolate the 5-meo-DMT from the 5-HO-DMT or any of the other alkaloids which are soluable in the same solvents, you can somewhat clean it up with a acid base extraction & cleaning, but you will have a mixture of alkaloids, unless you chromotagraphed

In reply to:

Technically speaking, buftonine won't make you sick, its the bufotoxins that exist in every species of toads venom that will make you sick. Bufotenine is a mysterious chemical. It is present in all toads, and their is a lot of debate as to weather or not it is in fact psychoactive. When Shulgin tried it, he did not trip, but his routes of administration did not include snorting or smoking it. Many say if you do either, you can get psychoactive effects, and there is a bufotenine containing seed in the amazon that was powdered and snorted in order to achieve psychoactive effects. Its possible, of course, that this seed (ill find its name later) has something else in it that is active.

dont take it personally, cause it aint ment to be, but who in there right mind would want to lick a toad to trip on its slime?......sounds pretty nasty to me.....if someone stated that bull S*M*N would make you trip, do you buy a quart?...i think not (at least i hope not)

the toad your talking about ( if there the same ones im thinking of) also carry a VERYpowerful toxin man, enough to KILL YOU.

be very careful smoochin toads, you might get one that turns into a 300LBS whatziz!

Re: The colorado river toad [Re: canid]

i think the pollution/global warming/habitat destruction thing is right on.
humans overharvest all things, cuz we are too many.
the real culprit in amphibian decline is the waning ozone layer tho...
the uv radiation that should be absorbed/blocked by the upper atmosphere is making it's way down to us (and the tadpoles), and the developing stage of most amphibians is seriously hyper-sensitive to uv, thus the mutated frogs all over the place.  species decline amongst amphibians is a harbinger of death for a wide variety of species that depend on them.....
so, if you have one of these toads, you better figure out how to breed them, as they may be extinct rather sooner than most of us are prepared to believe.....

First of all, I believe humans have had just a small part in the change in global climate.  Thats just my opinion in general, and i state it as such because that could be a whole other debate.  But maybe the mutations in the frogs (ie: M-DMT) are beneficiary to the frog, as humans have found a use for it similarly to psilocybe mushrooms...

just a pondering

So squeezing or lancing a boil on your neck wouldnt hurt?or be stressfull?
Dam i think it would
Just cos a toad doesnt say "Oi you tosser stop squeezing my fucking neck bitch,it hurts"

Doesnt mean it doesnt hurt it  so if you wont one as a pet i bet you only squeeze it once or twice before guilt sets in  but from my view that would be all id do as its the sort of thing you wont to try but aint gonna be habbit forming
