Now that I'm not a 'noob' anymore The Shroomery is loosing interest. / Noob posts piss me off.

So I've been registered here for 5 years...

When I first came to the shroomery everything was new and exciting. I learned so much and read about all these experiences that I really wanted to try...

Now, 5 years later I feel I've learned almost everything I want to learn, and I've experienced almost EVERYTHING that I see talked about on this site.



BUT, I have to say that I get annoyed reading 'noob' posts. Like posts I can tell are buy teenagers or people new to the scene.

I'm only 24 years old but I feel like I'm a full-grown adult hanging out with a bunch of High School kids here.... I don't like that...


But deep in my heart I still :heart: the shroomery. There are many absolutly amazing people on this website! But unfortunatly there at thousands of dumb-ass fuck-tards. :crankey:

OOoooh look at me. I'm all grown up now. I've seen everything there is to be seen and done everything there is to be done. Waaah it's so bored being alone at the top. I'm just going to eat up my experiences. OM NOM NOM NOM NOM! And I'm not gonna share or help out those worthless noobs. Even though I have all of the knowledge there is to be had, I'm just going to complain about it and not spread the knowledge.

I'm growing out of this place, and both of your posts confirm that for me....

Everything I used to read on hear used to be interesting and exciting when it was all new to me.

Now I just feel like I'm hanging out with a bunch of high school noobs...

funny, I'm in the same boat as you OP, but 29. You should evaluate whether you really love the shroomery or just compulsively check back on the place. How many times in the past months have you read a series of posts or an entire thread and said to yourself..."man i have to quit coming here."
I have no problem helping those who are genuinely curious about things and have questions. Don't be a noob snob.
What I do have a problem with are the flat out idiots. The kids, you know the ones. The ones that have pretty much ruined this place.
This place is a 'social' circle to some degree. Do you really want to associate yourself with these people? At least I know I don't. I do feel like a loser the more I think of the fact that I take part in relatively mundane and vacuous discussions on the internet.
This place has great qualities. There is some really good, solid truth about this place, but as far as it being something that is good for me?..nah. Hardly. Its not that this place has much bearing in my life, but it does effect my life in a way.
Funny, I always thought I knew exactly what a loser was. Like you said, there are some great people on here. Who knows, maybe i'm not even among those who's posts people care to read.
I think about 75% of the people are losers on here. Actually, its much higher. We all are pretty much in that category. Time to move on.

Well, the thing is... Very few posts even interest me so I barley open any threads. And the threads that I do open, I will RARELY read the whole thing...

Yes it does, and that's why I still come back. I have made some great friends through this site, met some fucking awesome people, and I have learned SO MUCH here!

But like you said, all those annoying idiot kids are making this a less enjoyable place to hang out at...

When I see posts by people asking how to make a home-made bong it makes me not want to hang out here.

When I was 16 we would make 20oz bottle bongs EVERYDAY at our lunch break!

thought that too. I'm on another board, that is much more personal (trading legal/semi legal things, sources etc.). There are a few very well versed in drug culture, some that are simply experienced, a few are up on their chemistry knowledge. Thing is, theres a recent trend of people talking about quitting drugs, going through depression, a couple potential suicide threads. This one is more RC centered too. Its a good place to go for sourcing, and some entertaining banter, but thats it. That place brings me down too. It makes me just want to do drugs.
Bluelight is probably better than here, but somehow, even after getting an account there, I ended up back here, not using bluelight for interaction, but just to read about drugs etc. I tried entheogen.com. stopped going there for a while. Drugs-forum just annoys me with the SWIM crap. and its FULL of noobs.

Thing about bluelight, some have a real know-it-all complex. I think I would ditch this place if there was an anon forum there.

I agree that the place has taken on a high school beer chugging behind the barn mentality.
I do look forward to seeing a few people post and often enjoy their conversation. But mostly it's getting pretty lame.
That's not to knock the site at all. Only the widdle kids making asinine posts 24/7.

I feel that there's a greater wealth of conversation going on in these.

Edit: Sub forums is probably the wrong term. I mean Physical and Mental Well-Being etc.

TBH I think the OTD forum does this whole site a massive disservice. There are tons of really retarded kids on here who have never contributed to the Mushroom/ethno/chemistry or philosophical sides of this site. They just have post counts in the tens of thousands and have never, once, ever said anything that was either informative,meaningful or entertaining beyond the massive congregation of fail that is otd.

Shut that forum down and if need be kill off this forum as well. Moderators should all use the ban buttons liberally. If you sound like a 16 year old dropout then BAN, no questions, no warning, just a fuckoff and dont come back.
