Puerto Rican stain question

I noticed that a few people were talking about PR strains, and they were told that they shouldnt use it for the first time. Unfortunately i have already purchased and injected a myco bag with 2 cc's of PR and i am wondering if there is some type of special care needed for a successful harvest of it. It is kept in the dark at a temperature range of 75-83 and it has been 5 days. I havent noticed any mycelium growth yet.

In reply to:

If you are going to case it once the myco bag is colonized, you just need to initiate pinning sooner than other strains. In reply to:

Just wait a while. I've never used myco bags, but I hear that they can take a while to show growth.

PR's are easy !! The pic is PR's on PF cakes the smaller one dunked 12 hrs at birthing the other just birthed - make your own conclusions
The tray is PF cake PR's sliced into pasteurised straw in layers and cased in 50/50 +. I waited 24 hrs after casing before cold shocking (12 hrs) before putting it into my fruiting chamber. The only problem with Pr's is that the Myc is very agressive and will overlay like a mf (which is why i shocked and "birthed" it early)
I will post some more pics as things progress if anyone is interested.

Have to agree with mix_up, PR's are easy!!
I grew EQ's and PR's for my first time, and had no problems at all with the PR's. Regards the mycobag, I've read that you need to massage them to spread the mycellium around, but I think that's only when it actually starts to show? Personally, I'd give it another 4 or 5 days, and if there's still absolutely no sign of myc growth then I'd squirt some more PR spores in there and see how that goes. Good luck man.

ii also have some P.R's in a myco bag and it took about 6 days to show growth, i inject mine right in to the middle and to the sides so it has to grow out from the middle. if you did it the same way it will be ok. and sometimes it just takes longer to see growth.
