Tell her to go sober. Taking a regular dose of tylenol should be enough to take the edge off the pain slightly (and if you tell her it'll really reduce the pain, she'll get the benefit of a nice placebo effect too). IMHO, pain is a part of the process of getting a tattoo, I don't think I would have the same feelings of appreciation for my tattoos if they had come easily and 100% pain-free.

A friend of mine did get really blazed before getting a tattoo on his wrist, he said the pain was very, very intense and that the weed made the pain and anxiety about getting the tattoo worse. I wouldn't recommend smoking beforehand, although I've never done it myself. I had both my tattoos done while I was totally sober, and I don't think they would be the same if I hadn't.

ime when I was getting tattood on and around my elbow I thought I would die. The pain was so intense I was sweating bullets

Everyone says the ribs are the ultimate worst spot. Most nerves that are against bone.

fuck all that painkiller jazz. IMO your supposed to just deal with the pain. its kind of like paying your dues (along with paying the artist) so you can have that (hopefully) sweet ass ink in your skin for the rest of your life (again, hopefully).

if she can't put up with it she shouldn't get ink. a little bit of temporary pain is just part of the process.

besides it only hurts while getting tattooed. i never had any residual pain afterword.

Tell her if she wants something as serious as a tattoo to fucking suck it up.

I have a huge chest piece, which is only halfway complete and it hurts like fucking hell in the middle and on my collar bone, worst pain to date for a tattoo, and I have one on my spine on my back too.



She just needs to breathe and deal with it. The pain is only in 5-20 second blasts. before the tattoo artist lets up on the gun.

If she thinks she's adult enough to get a tattoo then she's adult enough to deal with the pain.

It's just the truth :shrug:
If the only way she can get a tattoo is with drugs then.. i don't think she should get one at all... It just takes away the experience tbh, plus my some of my friends who are 18-19yr old girls got fairly large tats with relative ease..its not that bad unless shes getting it on her eye or something.
