anyone got a rib tattoo?

Im wondering where to get a tat and I am thinking hard about a rib tat. girls tell me it would be hot and i heard its painful as fuck.

anyone got a rib tat? how bad did it hurt?

Ouch...

Seeking out an especially painful tattoo sounds like too much trouble for what it's worth. If someone digs tattoos, they're likely to find a less painful one equally as attractive. I'd opt for a less painful one and instead focus on getting the coolest design possible.

I've been telling myself for years to get a classic upper arm tattoo, but of a flying P51. The location is generic, but the subject is cool enough to make it less generic.

IT's funny that you say a 'rib' tat. I have a buddy that owns this bar, in Southside that has a tattoo shop next to it. This one guy that runs tats in there was telling us how he got this call from a guy wanting a slab of ribs tatted on his right ribcage. Long story short, the artist ran the tat for free just for nostalgia purposes! I wish I had a scan of that pic. If I get it, I will send it here ASAP. I'm gonna send myself a reminder to do this.:smirk: I have a long term problem with short term memory loss.:grin:

Yeah.. it hurts.. a lot.

Like, the worst pain I've ever felt.
A tattoo on the arm is a pleasant massage by a 110lb oriental woman in comparison.

I've been thinking about getting one on my ribs as well. I'm a little concerned about how much it will hurt but I always hear that bone in the middle of your chest hurts the most... I already got that tattooed so I'm prob. just worrying too much about it. I guess if it's that bad you can always just get the outline done and get the shading/color at a later date.

It seems to be different areas effect different people in different ways. Sure some areas are likely to be more sensitive if they're near to the bone, thin skin, erogenous or ticklish areas.

I'm lucky and my work has never hurt(yet!), more a bit of discomfort in some spots. Some people are in agony from places like biceps...

I got a design behind my ear and artists and heavily tattooed folks warned me it would kill as it is near 3 main nerves. Least painful yet, really nice sensation actually!
not got any rib work yet though...

I think the pain shouldn't come into it. If you want a design and placement, then a bit of pain is nothing compared to commitment to ink. Just go for it!

I've got a chest tattoo, which is the next most painful area to get. It was quite an ordeal, but I'm glad I did it. IMO, if it's worth getting, it's worth suffering for. You gotta earn that tat. But if you're going to go through with it, you'd better think long and hard about what tat you're getting, and it should be for a better reason than just because girls think it would look hot on you. I wouldn't put any ink on my body that didn't have a special meaning for me, but especially not on such a sensitive part of my body.

The one on my chest was my first tattoo. The chest muscle didn't hurt, the sternum was the most painful thing I've felt (to date), the collar bone was... um... interesting. It bruised up real bad (and I don't bruise easy), I wouldn't say it hurt but I was able to feel the needle vibrate on the bone

if you got to ask about ifit hurts...Whats the point of getting one. Of course it hurts! jab yourself with a needle, tell me how it feels.

I got my whole chest inked. hurt so good.

I love the fact you can't never fully predict how it'll feel.
You get to know your body in new ways.

Just above my ankle i got this weird nervous tick on part of the design. The guy asked me stop moving, and i didn't even realise i was!

I also love how intimate it is getting ink. I mean my main artist is a big fat biker dude, but it's still weirdly sensual...
