My Tattoo Story!

Okay so I got there - my ex had an appt. before me and he claimed that he'd stay for mine and watch. He also owed me my sweatshirt. Well I got there and he left like 10 min before I got there, motherfucker... he CLAIMS that he didn't think I was going to show. Uhhuh...

Anyways... my friend came with me b/c he knew the tattoo artist. I was nervous as all hell, really fucking nervous. I was getting it on my lower back.

After my tattoo artist cleaned it all up and set everything up for me, he called me to the chair. He put on the transfer and had to do it over once bc it wasn't right the first time. After that, it was time. I sat on a stool, leaned over a chair and prayed.

The first line... didn't fucking hurt!! I was so fucking happy. The whole damn thing didn't hurt except when he did the feet at the bottom, that kinda fuckin hurt.

The whole time people came over to see it and all were really impressed. Everyone there knew Brian Froud's work which was pretty cool.

It took about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. A LOT of shading. I paid $220 which was pretty fuckin sweet.

At the end I gave him an extra $45 for tip, he counted the cash and told me I was over $45... I told him it was for a tip. That's when he said "wait, did you say you were going out for ice cream after this? Alone?" and I was like "ya..." and he was like "Well, could I come with you? You're my last client. Forget the tip, treat me for ice cream instead". So I agreed. He got all his stuff packed up and we went into my car and to the ice cream place. We hung out for like an hour and just talked. The funny shit is, he used to be my neighbor - lived 2 homes away from me - knew my stepdad by name.  Freaky shit...

He was like "wow this is a first, I never went out with a client like this before" and I just laughed.

So we got back to the tattoo studio and he ran in and got me all the cleansing stuff and a free shirt that he designed. He mentioned how he had a lot of fun and wanted to know if I wanted to hang out again this week... I said "sure".

Isn't that crazy... my tattoo artist asked me out. Hm... sweet deal. :smile:

Ok so overall - incredible experience and a fucking ridiculously incredible piece of artwork on my back. I'm thrilled. Really.

Unfortunately I have no cam - otherwise I'd have a picture of it by now - hopefully I'll get one soon. I'll have to bug my friend next time I'm over her place.

I know this dude who is the head piercer at the best tattoo parler in town. His job is how he gets all his chicks.

Edit: Yeah he does pierce heads but thats not what I meant.

if i'm not mistaken, Little_Shroom has some work of froud too. he's pretty badass with all his different faeries and trolls and stuff. if i can find one that suits a guy, i may think of getting it. all his stuff looks kind of feminine to me though...

that's cool that you went out with the dude too.
