shit, i dont see any reason that wouldn't work. I personally havent tried or seen any Mexicana mono's but the idea sounds quite intriguing. Since they're duds anyways, what's to lose? i was thinking of just a simple chop and case into a couple small shoebox trays or something. nothing too elaborate really...probably not even spawn to anything; just case the grain and put into normal fruiting conditions. I have a cool-mist connected to two monotub-esque fruiting chambers with the standard four 2" polyfill holes for FAE. I honestly dont expect too much from these--i'm just curious mostly. I'm going to concentrate mostly on sclerotia production once i receive a new Mexicana A syringe. What were you thinking?

Hmmm. Maybe not my most thought through post but yeah, what was I thinking?  Well I have heard that mex. a does prefer cosiderably more FAE than cubes seem to require. I didn't intend to imply that this is some insurmountable feat, just a factor to consider. I did kind of lose track with the fact we're dealing with a dud and we don't know what, or if, they will produce. For all I know their pan cans. I have no idea what the myc would look like. :shrug:

i was thinking mini-mono.  No casing and very simple substrate (coir only).  Lazy is the directive....put it into a container...mist a little and see what happens.

That will work if they're cubes. Mex a needs casing, which you could do with coir as well. I'd think casing without any spawning would  offer the greatest chance of growing at least something.
