Brought to you by THE TRIBE
Supplies:
- Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil
- bleach wipes
- painters mask
- nitrile powder free gloves for SAB work and handling fruits/scissors/caps
- 28 Quart Sterilite from target
- all metal scissors
- Bernzomatic torch or alcohol lamp
- 70% isopropyl
- 3"x4" resealable bags available at the sewing section of walmart
- SAB-the one pictured is 110 quarts. the magentic cover is for closing between work sessions or when you need to take your hands out of it.
- Draft free area to place the bin on to allow for spores to drop and prints to dry
found these sterilite for about 5 bucks each at target. they stack. they are neat. you can wipe out the inside with bleach wipes. and it makes for a nice still air box type work area. you can seal them easily for the caps to drop spores. then open in your sab and remove caps to allow the prints to dry.
flat baking trays. the thick ones. 10 bucks each but worth it. 15 jars fit per tray. found these 28 quart sterilites for about 5 bucks at target. 23"x26"x6"h. nice, clean, stackable. takes up very little space.
easy and stack able. 30 prints per bin. you can stack two of each baking tray with wide mouth 1/2 pint jars in each tub. so 30 prints per tub. put 3 together. and you have 90 print capacity.
8x8 foil folded in half shiny side up and laid on the tray side by side with wide mouth half pints over. once prints are taken, that foil is folded back over.
folded under
side by side with wide mouth half pints on top.
15 per tray. put in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes.
the tray is taken out and placed in a pre cleaned(bleach wiped and 70% iso wiped) plastic tub and moved to the SAB for print work. the tub is wiped then allowed to dry. i wipe it down prior to doing the removing the caps for prints. this way when your done with your SAB work your tub is dry.
an all metal pair of scissors is flame sterilized using a bernzomatic torch and the stems are cut off. each cap is placed under the 1/2 pint wide mouth jar on top of the foil so that the print drops on the shiny side of the foil. clear tub is left in a draft free area. caps allowed to print for 12-18 hours then removed. jars is left over print and allowed to dry for a few days. nice thing is. you can visually see inside these boxes without having to open them up. it helps when you allow the prints to dry.
scissors
after cap removal
The tubs are then closed, placed on a draft free shelf and allowed to dry for up to 4-5 days so that the print is completely dry before it is packed up and sealed.
prints come out like this
and right before they are wrapped up
prints are folded like so.
The prints are then placed into 3x4" plastic sealable bags from the sewing section of walmart.
also uv sterilizer to clean the outside of the foil after the print is wrapped up.
This is an unwrapped print right before swabbing it on agar.

i wouldn't do bulk with these. they were on the shorter side so they could be stacked with minimum space usage.

Very cool, but...what do you need that many spores for? Heh.
-------------------- HELLO, NUBCAKES. ARE YOU HAVING CONTAMINATION ISSUES? WELL, YOU MUST NOT BE AWARE OF THE MAGICAL FORCE OF BACTERIAL ENDOSPORES. E-N-D-O-S-P-O-R-E-S. SPELL IT OUT, YOU GOD DAMN NUBLETS, BECAUSE IT WHAT CAUSES EVERY CONTAMINATION KNOWN TO MAN. ENDOSPORES HAPPEN WHEN YOU DO NOT PRESSURE COOK AT 15 PSI FOR AT LEAST 6 HOURS. LIKE A FUCKING VIETCONG IN HIS CAVE, THESE RELENTLESS COCKSUCKSERS CAN GET FUCKING FRIED AND STILL POP OUT OF YOUR GRAIN AND FUCK ALL YOUR SHIT RIGHT UP!! GETTING CONTAMINATIONS? WELL OBVIOUSLY, YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ENDOSPORES!!

did you read the link? you only hit the outside of the foil and the bag. not the spores.

i think i may get one of these. i don't have an area for a lab / clean room. my jars and GB and well most of my stuff is kept in the laundry/ pantry. i have a plethera of sterilite boxes that are in a screened in storage room outside. i'm constantly wiping things with tons of alchohol and lysol. somethings take longer to prep than the actual project.
oh, plus my "disposable" petris. a lot of places that sell them advertise that they are UV sterilized. sweet.

just got one of these for more prints in less space. i'm not sure how mant will fit in one drawer but it's 12" X 12" so like 16per = 48? we'll see.
edit; i guess the pic would help. lol.

cool. one downside. might be more difficult to clean the top of each drawer. would have to pull it out and wipe it down upside down. that should work though. and if you bake a tray at 350. it will slightly melt the plastic but not much. not enough to make indentions. so just put the trays directly out of the oven right in there. or you can let the oven cool. but keep it closed. then when your ready to move the trays into your droors. clean the area, turn off the ac, spray disinfectant. then quickly move them into the droor. ill even wear a painting mask. im using i think 11x19 sheets or 11x13. whatever the the size is i forget. but they should fit in. usually i just measure them when i got to target or walmart by grabbing the baking sheets out of that section and taking them to the plastic bin section. people probably look at me funny when im examining plastic bins and trays to the extreme. opening them, stacking them, measuring them with a tape measure lol..
