Blacklight LSD Test

Erowid recommends placing LSD blotter under a black light to test if it is real or not (LSD glows under a black light.)  However, I am also aware that UV light degrades LSD.  So, my question is, do you guys think that holding blotter under a black light for 30 seconds to a minute would degrade the acid significantly?

it will be fine. however. most paper glows under uv light. espeislaly white paper. its hard to tell exavtly what an ative glow is unless you have empty blotter to place next to it to compare

no, it wouldn't hurt it at all, but the blotter paper itself glows under a blacklight so i dunno man. they only reasonable way to test it is to eat it.

i used to check out mine under a black light, but i got it on the old school sugar cubes.

the acid definitely had a distinct glow compared to the lighter glow of the sugar cube itself, and you really only need to hold it under for like 5 seconds to look at it so no real degradation will occur.

LSD crystals glow under blacklight, but when you consider the concentration in liquid or on a blotter it really turns out to be a pathetic way of testing. not to mention so many other things glow under blacklight.

So you think it could still be acid if the blotter doesn't glow too bright?  Or is it DOx?

I don't think that any forms of DOx glow under a black light, but i think their are a few research chems and other psychs that are sold as 'cid that do glow.

well yeah, absolutely could be. if you want to distinguish it from a DOx you could take a tiny taste. the DOx compounds will have a slightly bitter taste, while LSD does not.

and definitely don't be fooled into the propaganda that, "acid tastes minty"

lol. I don't know how many times i have heard this from douche bag dealers and dumb ass wannabes.
sometimes they use sweet breath containers to hold the liquid in, any chem could taste minty.

Good to hear that UV light won't destroy it that quick.  I didn't think Erowid would tell people to test it using a method that destroys the chemical, but I just wanted to be sure.  I guess the best method of testing is to just eat it though.

agreed, the DOx theoretically shouldn't glow, but i think you should scrap the whole blacklight thing in the first place. it's just way too inconclusive.

if you don't mind eating an RC, you could tell after you ingest it, with things like the taste, onset time, duration, etc. etc. other than that you need some insanely expensive lab equipment to really know what you've got on your hands.

Acid's active in micrograms.  a ug is a microgram unit.  mg is a milligram.

allow me to clarify here...

LSD is dosed in micrograms.
LSD does not have a taste.

DOx is dosed in milligrams.
DOx has a bitter taste.
