Yeah it really doesnt make a huge difference. I use a 300watt fully submersible, if that matters. I also use the sterilite containers inside one another with about 1/4 of water in the bottom container.

"Some men are bigger then others". I hate fish tank heaters and have given up on them. They are either broken when I buy them or broken shortly after I use them. I quit. "These Pretzels are making me thirsty!"

It really does not make much of a difference. I usually go by the size of my rubbermaids...

What matters most is the amount of water you use, if your terrarium is too cold, and your heater is at maximum temp, you need a larger container for your water, or better insulation.

On the topic of fish tank heaters...

I bought the cheapest 50W aquarium heater available, for my incubation chamber. I'm experience a problem with my preliminary tests. Basically, spend money if you want accuracy. I can't get my incubation chamber to a constant temp, either it's 80, or 90. Never 86. The humidity is out of control, always at 100% after a few hours of sitting.

My solution will be to replace the heater with one of higher quality, but still small enough for my 36QT incubation chamber. Also, perhaps I should seal the water reservoir to prevent humidity.

OR.

Dry heat may be the most prevalent heat source for incubating.

Advice. Don't buy cheap shit. I plan on buying a fancy heater for my fruiting chamber. Why be bothered with inconsistancies and unreliability, after all.
